The First Ocean Gwangan

Direct aan de brug, met een prachtig uitzicht op de zonsopgang. Het was een behoorlijk grote kamer en goed uitgerust (wasmachine, afzuigkap, airconditioning en koelkast). Het enige minpuntje was dat de douchekop verplaatst moest worden bij het openen en sluiten van de badkamerdeur.

Really spacious room with an excellent view. It was definitely more room than I needed as a solo traveler but nice to have something relatively spacious and so close to the beach. One downside is that there is only two elevators for the building so there can be a bit of a wait especially if on a higher floor. It’s also a bit of a walk from the metro line. Would definitely recommend if needing a place for a longer stay.

The most important thing you need to know before booking this hotel is that the balcony glass comes in two versions: clear and frosted. If you are assigned a room with frosted glass, it can completely ruin your stay because the sea view is significantly obstructed—and you have no way to choose which type you'll get. Before our stay, we contacted the hotel and specifically requested a room on a higher floor. We had already read many reviews warning that Room 301 on the lower floor has frosted balcony glass and is located right next to the exhaust vents from the down floor BBQ restaurants. As a result, smoke and cooking odors collect around the balcony, making it impossible to sit outside and enjoy the ocean view. We arrived for check-in less than 10 minutes after the front desk opened, yet we were still told that Room 301 was the only room available for us. The staff explained that rooms were assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, even though the hotel's booking system was still accepting reservations for the same room category at that time. We politely asked if it was possible to change rooms during check-in, but the staff repeatedly refused. As a result, our Busan trip was spent in a room that we had booked specifically for the ocean view, yet we could barely enjoy it. Instead of relaxing on the balcony and taking in the scenery, we ended up staying inside the room most of the time. I've attached a photo so you can see for yourself. If you're sitting on the balcony or lying on the bed, this is the view you'll have from your room. Almost every hotel in this area has clear balcony glass in every room, so you don't have to worry about your view being blocked or your trip being ruined because of something completely beyond your control. If the ocean view is important to you, I strongly recommend booking a different hotel instead.

The room was exactly like the picture! You can get a beautiful view of the Gwangalli beach and enjoy the sea breeze at the balcony. The location was great. Right below the property is a lively street filled with restaurants, cafes, bars, photo booth studios, game arcades, convenience stores etc. Luggage storage is available before check in and the host will send you the password for the digital lock on the day itself. The room size was just nice for two people. The only thing to note is that it can feel a little tight if you have two 28-inch suitcases fully opened at the same time, so we kept ours closed when not in use. However, considering the amazing location and stunning beach view, this was only a minor inconvenience.

My second time staying here Superb location, right in front of the beach Can reach everything by foot 7-11, GS25, baskin robin, cafes, foodies, olive young all were just around the corner 2mins walk to bus stop, bout 8mins walk to subway station. Bed is comfy, the balcony is the best. Overall everything is good. One little cons will be the bathroom, it is quite narrow.
