My recent experience of staying at the Novotel in Brussels was pathetic , and I strongly advise against staying here. The service was terrible, and the staff was rude and unhelpful. Despite placing a request well in advance to have our family rooms next to each other, we were informed upon arrival that the hotel was too busy to accommodate us. Instead, we were given the two rooms on separate floors with a room with an awkward archway, which resulted in our son bumping his head. When we asked to change rooms, the staff seemed irritated and unwilling to assist. It took a lot of insistence before they finally moved us to a different room.
The worst part of our stay was breakfast. I noticed a moth or an insect floating in the yogurt and informed the woman managing the buffet. She was wearing a white shirt and had no name badge. Instead of replacing it, she merely removed the insect with a spoon and left the yogurt as it was. When I confronted her about the health risk, she gave me an angry look, pretended to take it away, but clearly brought the same yogurt back out. After that, I only felt safe eating pre-packaged items like fruit and cereal. I am now planning to report this incident to food and safety department.
This hotel doesn't even deserve one star. The only positive aspect is the location, but everything else was beyond disappointing. If you care about basic service and hygiene, avoid this place at all costs.
