Lula's Bed & Breakfast

Tammy and Allan are great hosts and went above and beyond to make our stay feel like home. From helping me retrieve my sunglasses, to printing off some immigration related documents for us, to dropping us at our pickup point when we were leaving, they really did everything to make our lives easier during our stay. Great breakfast, air conditioned rooms which, along with the entire communal area, was kept immaculately clean at all times. The room also contained a multi plug adaptor with several USB ports also. Anyone travelling Central and or South America will know how rare it is to be provided with this. The porch on the second floor is also magical and so relaxing to chill out with a beer in the evening and watch the stars. The location is also perfect, with the main street of restaurants only a 10 minute walk away, aswell as only being a 10 minute walk to the dock to go on trips etc to the other islands of Bocas. Finally compared to other accommodations in the area, this place is also great value for money.

There was a homey a**osphere and although I didn’t use the available kitchen, it was very well organized. Also, the breakfast was fabulous and much appreciated!

You stay in a calm street 5-10mins walk from all the noise and pulse. So perfect like that. I stayed in a basic room, be aware that one can be little tight for 2 ppl. Most important for me as solo traveller was that due to Tammy and Allans friendliness did i feel even more safe. They always gave tips and knew more or less what i was up to during the days because of that. The breakfast is great and cozy with a normal kitchentable were you often sit with the other guests. It was a lot of construction in bocas in general when I was there and Tammy drived me to the airport even if was just 7 mins walking.

We really enjoyed our stay at Lula’s! Location was in a quieter part of the town which helps with a quieter experience. Tammy and Allan were extremely helpful in providing tips and what to do, and how to get around Bocas and the islands. Nice clean, spacious rooms with comfortable bed and great air conditioning. The made to order breakfasts were tasty and ample. Nice deck to relax upstairs and meet other guests. Highly recommend this place!

We liked the traditional feel of the place, great welcome from Alan couldn’t do enough for you , every little detail was thought about . Room was good size and clean spotless. Bed was very comfy however the small bed was uncomfortable new matress needed. That was only complaint. The hammock on veranda great for relaxing. Breakfast was lovely. Beautiful dogs.

Comfortable property in quiet bit of town. Great sea view from upstairs veranda. Alan and Tammy are the best at customer service, everything went perfectly. Great breakfast too.

If you're sociable, love dogs and want a relaxed a**osphere with advice from superb, friendly, knowledgeable hosts, then Lula's may well be for you. Starting with a big mug of hot filter coffee when we arrived early, and a HUGE welcome from Buster and Lev the dogs, there's nothing we didn't like about this place. With Tammy away for a few days, we only met Allan but his attitude and knowledge were second to none. From advice on where to visit, eat and drink, to loaning us snorkelling gear, to even walking us to a dock to make sure we got on the right boat for a day trip, Allan was superb - and great to talk to and learn from. Lula's is a small yet sociable spot, where guests can breakfast together and chat in hammocks and rocking chairs - but there's no pressure if that's not your thing. Rooms and ensuite bathrooms are clean and comfortable with good air conditioning...and it was great to have decent shampoo and conditioner in a hotel! There's a full kitchen for guests to use, including a massive fridge if you need it, chilled filtered water constantly on offer and even a stocked honesty bar. It's just far enough from the centre to be quieter but a very short stroll into the main part of town. Thank you Tammy and Allan - your hard work at Lula's has been worth it.

Lula’s was a perfect place to stay in Bocas! The property gave off a homestyle vibe and the hosts were very warm and welcoming. Rooms were very clean, had hot water, air conditioning, and relatively quiet throughout the night. The complementary breakfast was also a nice touch as it was one less thing to think about before starting your day. It’s also very short walk to Bocas Town with great restaurants nearby. Highly recommend Lula’s if you’re staying in Bocas Del Toro.

The hosts are wonderful, the property was beautiful, tidy and clean. There are two lovely dogs that greeted us with waving tags and smily faces. There is a view of the water from the second floor lounging area. The hosts have a “honour bar” which worked wonderfully! You write your name down and settle up at the end of your stay. The bed was very comfortable, soft sheets, fluffy pillows and great mattress - it was the best sleep I had throughout Panama. The location is great, a very short walk to every in the town but far enough away that you don’t hear the music. All and all, really great experience and would highly recommend!
