"went for quiet weekend at the end of Jan, hotel was quiet busy, we booked a premier + room and it was fab, quiet location always excellent sleep quality etc. brekkie was fab, only 5 mins walk to Bewick centre. a good centre for exploring the area. there's no on site parking but just drive past hotel through the arch and it free parking, result! will def go back to this hotel."

"The staff were friendly ad helpful, though we weren’t able to check in until the full party of 7 cyclists had arrived. We had 2 bunk rooms booked, both rooms were clean and tidy though very warm even with the windows open. There was a communal lounge and kitchen for guest use, or you could eat in the cafe. We had breakfast, which included cereals, a wide selection of fruit and yoghurt as well as a full English breakfast. You had to order the night before, but the quality of the cooked breakfast was excellent. All in all an excellent budget venue that suited our needs perfectly."

"I found this place last year via looking at Google maps for a nice place to stay near Berwick-upon-Tweed. We struck gold, set in 2 acres of grounds, lovely old church next door.You get a magnificent view of the cheivert hills , just take a 1 minute walk past the Gables and right in front of you is a wonderious vista. Angus left us some cake and tea for when we arrived very nice gesture. Our room was fabulous great furniture and I mean great wonderful view, lovely bathroom, bed linen was superb. We had a wonderful rest here, slept really well. The breakfast was great quality , the atmosphere was outstanding, I could go on for ever......The even better thing about staying here is you host Angus, wonderful man, very interesting and so easy to get along with.....we only had a quick visit to the area but we will be back here to visit sometime and the only place we will stay at is The Gables....Thanks for a great time...."

"Waar ga je beginnen? Voor blank laat ik met positieve beginnen. Het was schoon, linnen en handdoeken waren fatsoenlijk - maar voor 216 voor twee nachten zou ik dat verwachten! Ook de locatie was uitstekende voor het bezoeken van de stad. Maar ........de plek is vrij nieuw, maar alles is goedkoop gedaan - alle tapijten, accessoires zijn goedkoop en tonen tekenen van het dragen of breken. De toiletrollhouder , ontbreekt/gebroken, venster blind draaien, gebroken, douchesap, slecht rustig. meubels goedkope & oncomfortabel, venster staat voor openbare weg en kantoren waar mensen kunnen kijken maar geen net curtain. Dit alles kan in een hostel maar ik 216 betaald voor twee nachten. Plus, constant irriterende e-mails van de eigenaar en een aanbod van een korting voor een goede beoordeling die slechte praktijk is. Ik ben eindelijk een blok, maar ik kon niet helpen denken dat dit niet een goede plek voor een vrouw is. zie mijn commentaar op het gebrek aan netwerken en de openheid van het raam (eerste verdieping) - zelfs de gebroken blinde trek was de verkeerde kant van het raam, dus een vrouw wilde de sluiting van de De blinden moeten erop lopen, want er zijn geen mensen die erop staan, en er zijn duidelijk jongens die een deel van de andere kamers hadden, en zij kwamen in de late bier en lawaai; en niemand daar is ontmoedigd om te worden dronken."

"We had a really good stay. Our evening meal was good and we enjoyed the bar. Staff were friendly, and prices not too bad. Our room was comfortable. But the breakfast in the morning was the highlight of the trip. I think this was the best full English I've ever had and I'm 75. I'll be back"

"The location is good, the transportation is quite convenient, it is located on the seaside, and it is pleasant to walk along the beach. The town has nice scenery and there are castle ruins. I went up to see them. The breakfast is good, but I forgot to take pictures of the interior."

"Liefs voor het ontbijt; en de grootte van de kamer en de bijgevoegde badkamer. kamers zonder schoonheid kunnen verder worden verbeterd (bijvoorbeeld vallende insecten op de ramen, stoffan, enz.). De voorzieningen zouden beter zijn geweest als er grotere openbare binnenruimte (bijv. restaurant/pub) was, die opener/flexibeler is voor gasten om zich te verlaten tot langdurige uren (bijv. voor het gebruik van openbare WiFi om te internet te verbinden). Over het algemeen is het een gemakkelijke plek voor een goede nacht rust!"
