Spent two nights in this hotel on a business trip. Location - Great . In the main area of the city and a safe neighborhood. WiFi - Really good! All over the hotel and I was able to download some big files that were relatively big. Staff - Fantastic! The guy who checked me in goes by the unique name Alef. I wish you could copy this guy to any hotel I'm gonna stay in. He was kind, available, knowledgeable and super helpful throughout my entire stay. This is the type of service that makes you enjoy your stay no matter what. Gym - Very basic and kind old equipment. Operating the TV with the remote was complicated. No towels... Come on. How difficult is it to place 5 towels in the fitness gym? Rooms - Kinda old but specious and overall OK if you don't expect a modern hotel standard. Unless you're spoiled it's totally fine. Overall - It feels old, and it could use some maintenance here and there. It doesn't feel like the property is taking care of, but nothing is faulty. The location, wifi and above all the staff (hopefully everybody is on the same level as the guy I met) are great positives and I can recommend this place. Just don't expect the standard of a new Marriott as far as the facility itself.

Hotel desk, parking, valet attendants were always kind & helpful. Room was comfortable & clean. Work out room & amenities well taken care of. Convenient location. Great breakfast, good food at restaurants - all the above I give 5 stars. However the organization of restaurant in the evening needs major attention, which is sad because the food is excellent, and so I give 2 stars as I’ll describe below. For our evening dinner we - and other guests waited more than an hour for food. It was obvious they were understaffed but no one checked in with us and it was hard to get their attention. When our food arrived, they forgot my elderly mother’s meal. Wait staff continued to not check in with us - and we felt ignored. Finally we spoke with staff and they got my mothers meal…about an additional 45 minutes later, we actually ate together. I complained to the restaurant manager and I was treated disrespectfully. I felt her meal needed to be compensated. His reply was “No - well she ate it didn’t she?” I was stunned by his rudeness and stood my ground that a 5 star hotel should not treat their guests this way. A waiter saw the ridiculous exchange and ended comping her meal. I noticed other hotel guests were frustrated too and had similar issues. At the very least all that needed to be done was for the staff to communicate,”Please be patient with us; were understaffed” etc. -That would’ve made a world of a difference.

We went here directly from the Ibis in Vitoria which was amazing! Well....that can’t be said for this one. I checked in prior to arriving ‘because it would save time’ I was told on my email...errr, no it won’t, so don’t waste yours. The receptionist didn’t speak English. Well that’s ok because we’re not Brazilian and no other hotel speaks English either and we managed but Ibis states they do, so it’s a bonus. And in Vitoria everyone spoke English and were so helpful. There was someone in the office who came out and said in English we’d have to wait. After 15 mins waiting for the people in front to be sorted, the English speaking person came out and started checking us in. I explained that I’d done this online. Was told it didn’t matter, he still had to do it. Breakfast, that was a fiasco. We’d paid for this so went into the restaurant to be told we needed something. What? Tokens...the receptionist didn’t really believe we weren’t given them at check in. Breakfast: stale bread, stale cake, flies on food. The taxis outside are intimidating and take up all the space outside restricting you getting another lift from elsewhere. On leaving, all the vehicular entrances and exits were obstructed by several coaches unloading children. Would I recommend this one? No! There’s another couple in belo Horizonte to choose from.

This hotel is clean and is in a nice location. Everything in the room functioned as expected, however internet speed was not great (adequate, not great). Read some of my other reviews and you’ll see a common complaint I make about hotels and that is no washcloth (or facecloth, whatever you call it). I had a bath towel, a hand towel and a floor bath at. I wash my face with a washcloth, just not in this room. Makes no sense to me. Also, a time or two, housekeeping did not leave me clean towels. The last day of my ten day stay housekeeping did not come into my room at all. The location is good, see,s to be in the middle of a lot going on and the big shopping mall is a short Uber ride away. Perhaps my biggest complaint about this hotel is the restaurant. The night I arrived I had work to do in the room so I ordered room service (which comes from the restaurant on first floor). I ordered a burger which I asked to be cooked well done and I very clearly said, “no red.” The person on the other end of the phone said, “yes, of course.” The burger was cooked around the edges and about 1/4” into it, it was blood red. It was room temperature or perhaps a little warmer but it was definitely not cooked. I called the restaurant to let them know they had definitely missed their mark on this one. They said “sorry” (That is all). The next night I went down to the restaurant. I ordered a steak medium well. It was a little more red than medium well, but it was tolerable. The last night I was there I was in the restaurant and ordered a steak. I asked “can I get that well done?” The waiter said with a serious, straight face, “No.” I said “whatever, have them cook it as well as possible.” Now I realize many people say it is a crime to cook a good piece of beef anything more than medium and those people can have their steak that way. When I am paying for it, you’d better cook it the way I want it and they would not do it. The restaurant had a great breakfast. Lucky for me there was a grocery store a block away so for dinner I went grocery shopping. If in Belo Horizonte again, I will likely return to this hotel. I will, however, know what to expect.

Room is a bit too ”bare” and dark at night even with all lights on. Also, with almost no amenities and bathroom too basic. Still, comfortable in general.

I found the hotel very good, in another hotel in BH in August was a bad experience. SAN DIEGO is clean, new, smellful, the rooms are small, but that is the less, the corridors have a carpet, which prevents noise, the coffee is very good (I just didn't like the pretence that is of bad quality or is presented). The next has a McDonald's, is on the streets with little movement, the attendants are hearty. 3 fast lifts, it never took to rise or down, the air conditioning is split and not window. Finally, a standard city hotel, which is not BH. I was staying two days and booked two rooms for four people, two in each.

The negative points: very narrow and dangerous garage rampa for larger cars, the rooms have a floor of folder, the air condenser is on the balcony of the room making a high noise, the room TV is installed on the passage offering danger to hit the head, the lifts have that old and heavy door that makes it difficult to pass with bags, the pool has a acrylic screw that when it rains makes a huge noise for those who are near the fourth floor. Just take these details into account, a fair note would be 8 in 10.

Pontos positivos: o atendimento da recepção no check-in foi muito bom, a localização é boa, de frente a uma padaria e do lado de um restaurante self-service sem balança e barato. Além disso, aceitaram antecipar o café da manhã em 30 min. em razão de concurso público de grande porte que houve na cidade no domingo. Pontos Negativos: - Não existe nenhum isolamento acústico, inclusive no quarto que fiquei tinha uma porta trancada que dava acesso ao quarto vizinho e me fez conseguir escutar tudo que falavam, além disso as janelas não vedam nada do barulho da rua por não possuírem borracha de vedação. Os quartos também são muito próximos uns dos outros, e para piorar as portas fazem muito barulho para abrir e principalmente para fechar, então a todo mundo escutamos barulhos altos. - O ar condicionado funciona apenas com vento fraco. - O chuveiro não funcionou direito, o registro da água quente não estava bem regulado, não sendo possível controlar o fluxo de água, fazendo o banho ser muito quente ou muito frio. - O café da manhã é muito simples, pouca variedade. - Pia do banheiro entope fácil. - Chuveirinho fraco. - Travesseiros muito velhos e manta com cheiro de que não foi lavada. - Internet wi-fi instável. - Cartão-chave dos quartos dá problema a todo momento, sendo necessário voltar à recepção para magnetizá-los novamente. Vi isso acontecer com diversos hóspedes.

Apartamento espaçoso, equipado com TV, frigobar, cofre eletrônico, ar condicionado split. Banheiro com bom tamanho e ótimo chuveiro. Roupas de cama já desgastadas. Limpeza bastante ruim. Encontrei um soutien e uma embalagem de preservativo embaixo da mesa de cabeceira, mostrando que sequer foi bem varrido. O piso é escuro, talvez para não mostrar a sujeira. Café da manhã razoável. Garagem apertada e caso o hotel esteja cheio, pode não caber todos os carros, sendo necessário deixar na rua. Mas isso já e comunicado no check in

The hotel has a super good location for the day activities, near the city road, well in the center of BH. The service was very nice, but we had contact with the receptionists only, we can't talk about the rest of the team. We stayed at the ninth floor, and even being high, because it was a apartment in front of the Avenue had a lot of noise, and almost next to the hotel has a church (beautiful) that touches the sun early in the morning, contributing to more noise. The walls are fine and gives to listen to guests from the other rooms. King bed super good, room with good space, few takes, clean bathroom. It even makes it to walk elsewhere, but we find the surroundings very dark and there are many people who ask for money in the streets.

I booked breakfast for a couple, but the restaurant did not serve coffee that day. According to the hotel reception, they had a problem, which is why they didn’t have time to drink coffee that day. Because of my early training, I had to leave in a hurry to find a bakery. I also don't like this service, it lacks empathy and friendliness.

I went there on Valentine's Day and found that the whole hotel is in order, especially on such anniversaries. Very cost-effective and worth it! The rich and varied breakfast makes the daily price more valuable. The room is also very nice. I just missed a heated swimming pool because the pool area is cool, but it is impossible to get in, it's too cold! For BH hotels, heating will be a big difference.
