Wyndham San Jose Herradura Hotel & Convention Center

We were prepared when booking this hotel from existing reviews by others. What happened turns out disappointing. The room on 2000 series on second floor seems an old unit, no shower floor towel, bath tub a bit old but functional, no fridge and so on. We were prepared for all that considering the price and location. At bed time, we found two bugs on bed linen but dusted them off. It's tropical atmosphere, what one expect! The next morning after breakfast, however, I found a few more on my bed. I pulled out a one of my credit card and killed a few. When pulled up my bed cover further, more showed up ...... See the bug in the video clip. I called front desk who sent a room services personnel to look at it. The personnel seems surprised to see the bugs as well. The front desk lady was nice and quick to act and changed my room to the room on 6000 series and okay with us. I requested to talk to their manager. Once back in late afternoon that day, I approached frondesk rep who went to backroom to fetch for the manager. The manager showed up in a while and apologized lightly, and started to push back by saying it's tropical weather here,bugs are normal, and many more. I told him that the room is infested too bad and need a thoughrou cleaning to eradicate the infestation. The manage then went on to explaining the same. I feel disappointed. For this hotel, I do not recommend this hotel until they do a good job. Or if you do like us, not exactly though, do make sure to ask the right question to avoid such a room. Good luck next time.

The most unorganised hotel I have ever been to. Check in is from 3pm and so we arrived at 4pm to be greeted to a huge queue of people unable to get their room as none of the cleaning was completed. Reception told us it would take 30 mins to get a room which was a complete lie. We kept going up and checking and they kept saying another 10 minutes which carried on for 2.5 hours at which time we only received the key to 1/4 rooms I had booked. Other guests we spoke to waited over 4 hours for their room key. We were given one soft drink as a concession for this which I thought was unacceptable. Instead of waiting around to be told further fake waiting times, we left the hotel to go back to town and then on returning at 11pm, the new receptionist had no idea about the issue and struggled to find our other rooms we had been waiting for, resulting in more waiting around after already being frustrated about the situation earlier. Eventually the receptionist from earlier appeared in a very dismissive manner and shoved a post it note with our remaining room numbers for the man to find. Not good service at all. The next day we booked a shuttle bus to the airport. We got to the designated spot and they had run out of room on the bus despite us pre booking. This means we had to wait another 30 mins for a bus to be organised resulting in us having less time at the airport to get through security etc. The actual hotel is fine with a nice pool area (one of the reasons we had booked but were unable to use due to no room access for hours on end) but the management of this hotel is atrocious. Wyndham need to look at this urgently as it is dragging down their name as a trusted hotel chain. I will never be staying at a Wyndham again if they can’t guarantee a stress free experience.

Pictures and entrance were amazing and clean, but once reaching the room, the room was musty, beds were terribly uncomfortable, the bathroom smelled like urine and feces. Upon inspecting the room, we found a large vomit or mold stain on the carpet, and decided to leave the hotel immediately to venture somewhere else. Cheap hotel, but you get what you pay for.

Great stay. Room was clean and spacious. Shower and ac worked great. Very close to SJO airport so super convenient. Would stay again easily.

Beautiful property from the parking lot and foyer, but the room was quite dated. Staff were fairly friendly, but did not go out their way to assist. Met our needs after a long day of travel, but would not suffice as a destination.

A bit outdated and needs some updates but still nice and really good value for the money. Staff very friendly and helpful. On the service side, it needs some improvements. Right outside of our suite there was a swimming pool, someone left there an empty coffee cup with cigarette buts in it, that stayed there for the entire time. Mattresses are in need of replacement. Nevertheless, that was my second stay there and I would definitely book it again.

Lovely hotel, beautiful pools, delicious varied breakfast and friendly polite staff. Note: shuttled oesnt run past 9:45pm and taxi from airport is $20 American.

The hotel is nice and conveniently located in relationship to the airport, but the rooms are a bit dated. Also, our specific room could've been cleaned more thoroughly prior to our arrival. Overall, it's a pretty decent place to stay for a night or two; go elsewhere if you're looking for a longer-term stay.

No water in the room bar fridge, we had 4 lights and only 1 had a bulb. Only one of the 3 restaurants were open to the public. Service in it wasn't good and the food was crappy and overpriced. The shuttle for airport pick up never showed so we took a cab. The check in staff were great.
