Het hotel ligt in het Water Town Scenic Area, naast het eiland Riyue. De locatie is zeer gunstig en de accommodatieomstandigheden zijn ook erg goed Tijdens de meivakantie is de prijs veel duurder dan normaal. De kamerprijs is echter inclusief een pakket, inclusief kaartjes voor schilderachtige plekjes, warmwaterbronnen, kaartjes voor de Grote Muur en een voetmassage. Over het geheel genomen de prijs/prestatie verhouding is goed. De service lijkt echt op de ervaring van een sterrenhotel, en er is een butlerservice geregeld. Ik ben hier erg blij mee. Ik kan de reisroute van tevoren regelen en heb een attente persoon die me er voortdurend aan herinnert Stropdas Hamer😊

Goede locatie nabij de ingang van Gubei Water Town. Kocht het hotelpakket met ontbijt en gratis kaartjes voor de warmwaterbron en kaartjes voor toegang tot de stad Gubei. Mooie kamer met goede keuzes bij het ontbijt. Zwembad ziet er goed uit, maar de damesdouchekop en sprinkler moeten worden gerepareerd en hebben een douchegordijn voor meer privacy. Er moet een begeleider in de kleedkamer zijn om te helpen in de sauna, de jacuzzi en de verwarmingsruimte. Er is slechts één föhn. Bovendien is er geen badmeester of iemand die kan vertellen dat de zwemband RMB 20 per stuk moet betalen (ik kan geen Chinees lezen), ook al vertelde een man die plotseling uit het niets bij het zwembad verscheen me er veel later over. Over het algemeen is het een goede ervaring.

The location was easy to find. It was quieter since it is situated a little away from the activities at the base. However it is at the entrance of the Great Wall tram gate, so very convenient for an early start, or an evening tour of the Wall. My stay was midweek over Christmas and the whole town was relatively quiet. This meant the Hot Springs were also quiet which was spectacular! The rooms were a little chilly at night, but a soak in the springs and a little peach blossom wine solved it. I highly recommend this Inn. They were happy to use their translation apps to answer any questions.

the hotel is ideally located close to the entrance of the great wall...within 3min walk. the decor and building have a traditional feel. the bed was very comfortable. its clean. service is friendly and helpful.

The owners are wonderfully kind and do everything they can to make guests feel at home. When we forgot to set an alarm, they gently woke us so we wouldn’t miss breakfast — which, by the way, is fresh, delicious, and prepared exactly to your wishes. In the evening, you can enjoy dinner right at the river’s edge while watching gondolas glide quietly past — an unforgettable sight. From our room, we also had a breathtaking view of the Great Wall. A place full of peace, warmth, and genuine hospitality. We only wish we could stay longer. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a truly special experience in China! 🌿✨

Location is good, center of the village, near the shuttle bus stop, near the drone showing area. The room has beautiful view at the beginning of Nov.

Checked in at the visitor Center and they sent our luggage to the hotel straight. The hotel comes with free entry to Gubeishuizhen and Simatai Great Wall and cable car. Hotel is clean and staff is friendly. Near the square to watch the drone show too. Also able to take the shuttle bus around the town

I booked the place after seeing good reviews from XHS and on this site. We were met with not the lady boss on day of arrival but a grouchy man with curt instructions. And no assistance was given to help us carry our luggage to the 3rd floor. Lucky, it was a single luggage. So both my sis and I were able to do it on our own. The room itself is clean but very basic with no place to hang our clothes though hangars are provided. As we were only staying for one night, it was ok. Towels are provided with shower gel and shampoo. The hotel location is good/central as it is near the Sun Moon Plaza. Did not get to see the drone show as there were thunderstorms that night. We were glad when we met the lady boss the next morning. Very warm and friendly personality. She also helped us with arranging our luggage pickup by the service centre. Breakfast was mainly Asian with also bread, porridge and the small dishes cooked on order by the lady boss were tasty. The homemade soya milk was great too. Overall, i think the hotels in Gubei Watertown are overpriced with such basic room amenities. I paid nearly the same rate for a 5star hotel in Beijing with much bigger room with better room facilities/service. Suggest to go for day trip if possible. But if you want to go for overnight stay and climb Simatai the next day, suggest to stay inside the scenic area so you pay half the price and enjoy flexibility to move within the scenic area anytime.

Exterior & First Impression Although the exterior of the property looks modest, the room itself is surprisingly beautiful and well-maintained. It’s clean, cosy, and thoughtfully decorated. Room & Facilities The room was spotless and warm during the winter season, making it very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious, and the hot water worked perfectly — ideal for a relaxing shower. Accessibility There is no lift in the building, but the number of floors is manageable and not a problem for most guests. Service & Staff Even though the staff didn’t speak English fluently, they were very helpful and used their mobile phones to translate and communicate. Their service was kind and attentive — truly lovely people. Breakfast Experience Breakfast was delicious and offered a mix of self-serve and made-to-order options. There was rice porridge, steamed buns, and bread available for self-service. You could also order dumplings, noodles, fried eggs, bacon, and sausages — all tasty and satisfying. Atmosphere Enjoying breakfast by the riverside in the morning was peaceful and refreshing. It’s a perfect way to start the day. Recommendation Highly recommended for anyone looking for a cosy and friendly place to stay. I would definitely come back again.

The hotel is located by the river, not far from food shops. It has a great location and an excellent view. The hotel is charmingly decorated, and the rooms are lovely as well. The breakfast is very good, the owner is friendly, and the price is quite reasonable. Highly recommended.
