HePingLi Traveler Inn, certainly one of the best moderately priced hotels I've found. Located in an interesting neighborhood district near center of Beijing.
Room clean and serviced every day, friendly and professional 24 hour front office. Elevator goes up to 5th floor and down to -1. Room includes excellent 7-foot long glass-top desk with associated swivel desk chair. My room on 3rd floor had two large single beds. Toilet is modern, efficient and quiet. Enclosed shower with wooded floor. The hotel includes its own large, fancy restaurant specializing in Peking Duck.
Many places to eat nearby including Sichuan, Hunan, Dumpling, Hot pot, Barbecue, and a large food court downstairs. Also, McDonalds, Starbucks, Paris Baguette right across the road.. Unfortunately the local supermarket just closed. Large population of delivery guys! I found many interesting shops nearby such as stationary/toy store, barber shops, computer copy shops. Local WuMart and China Mobile services are about a half-mile from hotel. #5 subway station is convenient by bike, but if you don't have Ally-Pay or WeChat Pay, there is no way to rent a green bike, blue bike, or yellow bike. After walking the distance too many times, I started taking the bus, almost always getting a seat.
For me, HePingLi Traveler Inn has been a great find!
