Ohla Barcelona

Het hotel was over het algemeen schoon. Er was een zeer vriendelijke, Chinees sprekende medewerker bij de receptie die ons restaurants in de buurt aanraadde en zelfs hielp bij het reserveren van een tafel in het Michelin-sterrenrestaurant van het hotel, Caelis, dat zich boven de lobby bevindt. Caelis heeft sinds 2018 acht jaar op rij een Michelin-ster en het was erg goed. Een diner kostte € 170 per persoon en duurde drieënhalf uur. Als u de tijd heeft, is het zeker de moeite waard. Het hotel heeft een goede ligging, vlakbij het treinstation, met directe buslijnen A1 en A2 naar de luchthaven. Aanbevolen voor reizigers met een vroege ochtendvlucht.

I had an amazing 7 days and 6 nights stay at Ohla Barcelona. From the moment I arrived, it completely exceeded my expectations. Beyond being a beautiful five-star hotel with a rooftop pool, gym, rooftop bar, and a Michelin one-star restaurant, what truly impressed me was the warmth of the service and the genuine focus on guest experience. Even before arriving, I received thoughtful emails from their Experience Team — and yes, they actually call it the Experience Team — asking if there was anything I needed ahead of check-in. It immediately made the stay feel personal and intentional. Upon checking in, guests are welcomed with free-flow bubbly from Barcelona, trays of chocolates, and a hospitality team that genuinely makes you feel cared for. The hotel also has its own app where you can request amenities, special pillows, support pillows, and other essentials conveniently. There is also a dedicated concierge/help desk that gives excellent recommendations for dining and things to do around the city. The location is another huge highlight. The hotel sits directly across from Palau de la Música Catalana, and within walking distance to the Barcelona Cathedral and the Gothic Quarter, where every street and building feels layered with history and character. It’s the perfect place to slow down, wander through the Gothic streets, and eventually make your way toward El Born for dinner. Even when heading further out to places like Sagrada Família, Casa Batlló, or Casa Milà, everything is only a short taxi ride away, which made the stay incredibly convenient. I also appreciated the well-equipped gym and sauna, which allowed me to maintain my workout routine while travelling. One of the nicest touches was the turndown service every evening. There were always handwritten notes waiting for us, along with chocolates, little surprises, complimentary pictorial books about Barcelona, and even bottles of wine in the room. None of it felt performative or overly scripted. The warmth felt sincere and heartfelt. Design-wise, the hotel strikes a beautiful balance between old and new Barcelona. From the exterior, you still see the classic architectural curves and aged character of the city, while inside, the interiors are dark, modern, contemporary, and thoughtfully designed. Cozy rooms, elegant marble finishes, and a global design sensibility that would appeal to travellers who appreciate aesthetics, comfort, and detail. The breakfast buffet was also excellent, and every member of the staff always seemed ready to help and serve with genuine hospitality. I truly enjoyed my stay here, and if I return to Barcelona, I would absolutely stay here again. Easily one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in Spain, if not the best.

Our best stay in Spain. The staffs were all friendly. I only managed to catch a few people’s names like Anass, Raquel, Sebastian but everyone (front desk, concierge, housekeeping, breakfast staffs) in the hotel made us feel very welcome and comfortable. For example, Sebastian offered a pair of scissors without us even asking when he saw us repacking our luggage at the lobby. Everyday we went out and returned, everyone would greet us. We truly felt the warm welcome and friendliness of the Spanish through them. Very glad to book this hotel even though the hotel may be slightly more expensive than other hotels in Barcelona. Housekeeping seems to be done twice daily too (they will leave us chocolates on our bed every evening which is extremely sweet of them). Housekeeping team also sprayed fragrance on our little pillows which we brought with us on the trip (no other hotels have done so for us into past). One more thing to add is that the showers in the hotel are full glass so it lacks privacy. We did not know this beforehand but only upon our check in. Anass and team assisted us the next day to stick privacy film to make us more comfortable. A pity is that the Michelin starred restaurant located in the hotel is closed from Sunday to Tuesday, so we could not get to try it. The breakfast is the same every morning too but it was alright. We would definitely return to the hotel if we are in Barcelona again. Gracias Team Ohla Barcelona! 100/100

What a lovely hotel, the crews from their morning breakfast service to the reception, are really excellent and they make you feel welcome and appreciated. They got us a nice little upgrade to our rooms which is a nice gesture. We stayed there for 4 nights and certainly enjoyed our stay. Quite the view from the rooftop bar, and location is truly the gem. Located on the Main Street, good security and walking distance to many places of interest in the City centre of Barcelona. I can’t recommend this hotel enough! 💙

Terrific location and service was incredible Birthday fell on this trip and was given an upgrade, wine and even champagne. Felt so spoilt. Staff and management really cared and went out of their way to make us feel at home. Could not recommend more.

The location is perfect in the Gothic Quarter, you can walk to La Rambla and a lot of shop and restaurants. The room is clean and comfortable. The glass shower is a bit different but that’s personal choice. Very dark in the communal areas. Good breakfast included. They allow us to use the wellness centre for shower and rest after check-off while waiting for our night flight. Excellent service. Highly recommend this hotel.

All round excellent. Bed a bit springy and coffee machine in the room doesn’t work. But otherwise all great.

Cute little boutique hotel situated in the Gothic area of Barcelona. Location was perfect. Walking distance to major attractions especially Gaudi’s masterpieces. Hotel was nicely decorated for Christmas . Smell of fresh pine leaves filled the lobby. Staff very friendly and helpful. Special mention to Rafael and Mariona who helped booked my tickets to Familia Sagrada at the last minute . It was my second time in Ohla and the welcome team came with champagne and chocolates. This nice gesture was really appreciated. O stayed in the Junior suite and the room was clean and well appointed . Only minor issue was the breakfast , while good, was the same everyday. I stayed for 4 days and wished a little variety would be great. Perhaps more Asian food as a lot of the hotel guests seems to be Asians. About the only Asian food was plain rice and miso soup. All in all a close to perfection hotel. A little more pricey but well worth it. Highly recommended.
