S18 Bali Villas

It looked great in the photos but for a 5 star hotel it's tired and needs more maintenance. Our door broken on arrival, jepordising our sercurity and they werent worried about that. We requested a room change which took around 1 hour. The staff were friendly but their comprehension was only fair. All the linen was old,faded,thin and a grey colour. The mosquito's were bad even though they come into the villa at 5pm every day to spray. Also be aware of the hefty deposit you need to pay on check in. But private pool is a good concept.

Extremely disappointed. Looked good on website but not so good in reality. Airconditioner was uncontrollable. Freezing to sub-zero one day and then de-frosting and flooding clothes in wardrobe directly underneath the next day. Two TVs, neither of which worked satisfactory. Place needs a good refurbishment. Recommended restaurant next door just as bad. Exorbitant cost for a small coke we replaced in mini bar. We stayed 8 days, Fair to say the other two places we stayed in Sanur and Lembongan were incredibly good.

We were 3 different couples and booked through TA on bookings.com for a week. I had requested that the 3 rooms be close together and was emailed saying request confirmed within 48 hours. Experience around our booking was as expected. We arrived a bit before 2pm check-in time and warmly greeted. We only had to wait 10 minutes before the rooms were ready. We were given a local cocktail while checking in which was a bonus. Our rooms were exactly what we had expected from the photos. While each Villa has it's own pool and breakfast can be delivered to your room, the hotel opposite called Bloo, has a large pool which guests can use and also offer a buffet breakfast each morning for about AUD $5. As the property is very new, some taxi drivers were not familiar with the name but when we showed them the address, they knew exactly where it was. We booked a couple of tours and when having to select the pickup location we could only select Bloo. As the staff work between both places, the drivers were sent to S18 without issue. Each evening, the staff would bring in a small snack for 2 and spray the rooms for mosquitoes. That was a bonus. The air-conditioning in the bedroom was great and the bed was extremely comfortable. We felt like Royals with the bathroom. The huge shower and deep bath in such a lovely setting was very relaxing. Go figure for a bathroom :) Any time we went to reception, the service was exceptional. EVERY staff member we dealt with always greeted us with a smile and did everything they could to help. You can arrange to get a scooter from the Villas for about AUD $10 per day. The scooter is delivered at an agreed time and the paperwork and collection is done at the Villas. As our flight back to Australia didn't depart until 11.45pm, I spoke with reception about a cost for late checkout just for 1 room. The other couples left their stuff in our room and we were able to make the most of our last day. It worked out to be about AUD $50. We didn't have to worry about storing luggage and were able to have showers before our overnight flight back. They also organised our transfer back to the airport for AUD $15. There are many eating options within walking distance to the Villas and 3 minimarts for drinks and snacks. Taxi into Kuta varied alot depending on what time of day we went in. The Villa has a shuttle that will take you there at either 11am or 3pm for free but you need to make your own way back. You also need to let them know if you want the service so they can let the driver know. Would we stay there again? ABSOLUTELY

First impressions are impressive with the staff willing to assist you immediately at any hour. The villas are clean and comfortable with all the amenities you could need. Our Villa was cleaned daily and then sprayed for mosquitoes. However a warning!!! If you are a light sleeper or wanting a tranquil private retreat this place is not for you. We stayed for 2 weeks and had to endure x2 weddings and there after parties. We were notified of the first wedding the day before with a letter left in our room. However the second and much bigger wedding came as a surprise. Be prepared not to have any peace or relaxation the night before or after the wedding as workmen work throughout the night and into the early hours setting up and hammering, yelling so loudly they might as well be in your room. The actual wedding day won’t offer you any relaxation with leaving your villa becoming uncomfortable as you need to walk through the wedding to exit. And staying at your villa is impossible with the speakers so loud they echo through the walls, vibrating every surface. The villas are all set up around the courtyard where the events are held. Meaning the bedrooms back onto the courtyard. The speakers are so loud you can hear them from the main road and it echoes and vibrates through your villa. Generally the event will start at 9:00am and continue to 10:00pm so if you are planning a day by the pool there is no chance of that. So in summary the days were weddings aren’t being held the S18 villas are an oasis. But on wedding days and the night before and after not even the strongest earplugs will help you. Definitely not recommended if you are after a quiet or private retreat for the entirety of your stay.

Wir waren im August 2022 für 12 Tage in dieser Anlage. Die Villen sind sehr schön eingerichtet inkl Badewanne im Badezimmer. Der Pool wird täglich gereinigt und auch sonst ist die Reinigung top. Das Personal ist überaus freundlich und jederzeit für einen da. Das Frühstück wird am Vortag ausgesucht und kommt dann in die Villa. Wirklich super. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und kommen im Dezember bereits wieder. Freuen uns darauf.
