Gedurende onze rondreis door de Noord-Italiaanse streek Piemonte woonden wij koninklijk zoals families als Savoy vroeger deden in het historische hotel Sina Villa Mathilde. In het prachtige hoofdgebouw waar je het goede ontbijt nuttigt in de voortuin met zicht op de Alpen. Geen modern maar juist prachtig historisch hotel. Boeking, na overleg met het hotel, via hun website gedaan met verzoek om een kamer met balkon. In de meeste categorieën wordt telkens genoemd dat sommige een balkon hebben, dus anderen kennelijk niet. Prijs kamer wel hetzelfde. Achteraf ook begrijpelijk omdat de balkons, in ieder geval in het hoofdgebouw, smal zijn en geen zitgelegenheid bieden. Zitjes zijn er wel heel veel in het gebouw, prachtige kamers en zalen waarin de gast een rustig plekje kan vinden, en buiten rondom het gebouw op het landgoed of bij het zeer ruime zwembad. Het hotel heeft ook een restaurant, Le Scuderie (de Stallen), zie aparte recentie. Hotel heeft een groot zwembad, met services: bedjes, parasol, handdoeken, poolbuffet met bediening en lunch mogelijkheid. Super geregeld, personeel is gastvrij, behulpzaam en vriendelijk. De kamer en ook de badkamer waren zeer ruim ruim met alle faciliteiten. Wel was de airco ontoereikend om de kamer echt goed koel te krijgen, op volle sterkte bij temperaturen rond de 35 graden werd met moeite de kamer tot 22 graden gekoeld, blinden en gordijnen dicht dus ook niets aan mooie balkon en uitzicht. Handig zijn ook wat stekkeradapters om onze 2-polige stekker te kunnen aansluiten op de 3-polige stopcontacten. Ondanks dat, genoten van ons verblijf daar. Er is ruim voldoene parkeergelegenheid op het terrein. Grote service van de receptie was ook dat men daar een lijst, 2 A4 vol, restaurants heeft, gesorteerd op afstand, zodat de gast eenvoudig een keuze kan maken voor eten "buiten de deur". Receptie geeft graag advies en reserveert indien gewenst. Dat brengt je bij uitstekende restaurants, op plaatsen waar je die niet zou zoeken. De geadviseerde restaurants bleken telkens zeer goed en niet duur Sina Villa Mathilde ligt zeer strategisch voor trips naar Turijn, de zuidelijke Alpen, Ivrea en Biella, de rijstvelden rond Ghemne, de Piemontse heuvels of zelfs Milaan. Overnachten als vorsten. Sina Villa Mathilde, een uitstekende keuze.

The place is really magic. Wonderful Villa in the countryside. Back to the old times. The common rooms are really beautifully designed. The service is superb and the staff extremely professional, kind and ready to help. Super clean. Recommended.

Nice hotel with old world charm. It is nice to see an old building such as this kept alive and used. It does take a team to maintain it. We found the hotel comfortable. The room and bathroom had modern appliances ect. For some reason our room was very hot and outside temperature was low. The view to the mountains was nice as was the hotel garden. The surrounding villages are not anything special to see. Most of the Piedmont touristic sites, landscapes and villages/ towns are a good drive south. The lakes are a big drive north. So I would say the location requires consideration when planning a Piedmont tour. We did eat in the hotel one night. The menu was regionally typical and the food was good. Prices were reasonable also. Overall it is a nice comfortable and cute place to stay, providing a special ambience.

A little difficult to find at first but we’ll worth it. The main building is glorious. Rooms comfortable and the staff lovely. Restaurant food is a bit mediocre and the service mechanical but the hotel itself is just great. Pool and bar, Gym even a tennis court. Reception is very helpful and happy to help

Honestly I don’t know what to start with…..as I absolutely love that place. Excellent villa, landscape view is great. extremely friendly staff and always happy to help you. Pool just perfect and definitely I will recommend you to stay

The setting is beautiful, with lovely gardens all around and a pool. Unfortunately the pool is very cold even in the middle of a hot summer and the rooms could use some freshening up. The breakfast could use more fresh local products, we expected a better breakfast selection from a 4 star hotel. The service is good. The half-board evening meal is good but it would be great to have dessert included instead of two main courses. The charm of the place is definitely the best part.

We enjoyed very much our short stay at Villa Matilde, that is really a lovely and peaceful place to relax. The reception was very kind and efficient. Our room was according our expectations, although the mattress was a bit firm. Our dinner deserves a special mention, since the food was really excellent. We will certainly keep Villa Matilde in mind for a next stay.

We really enjoyed our stay, great place, wonderful pool, excellent food (breakfast and at the restaurant for dinner). You can spend a few days on the property relaxing and swimming and then visiting some of the great historic sites. Great location near the highway for day trips.
