Het ontbijt is goed, m.u.v. de beperking van wat donker bruin brood en luxe broodjes. Inde middag snack is oke. Het avondeten is niet bijzonder en het saladebuffet is zeer beperkt. Wat sla, worteltjes, komkommer en radijs. Waterige dressing en geen variatie. Geen tomaat gezien! Ik zou het geen saladebuffet durven noemen. Aanvulling blijft over het algemeen achterwege dus op is op. Van de drie avonden was het vlees 2 avonden te lang doorgebakken en te droog om te eten. De kamer is oud en veel stof. Een smoothie bij een gang was jus d 'orange met limoen dat is een sapje! Matrassen zijn zeer zacht en bij navraag ook geen betere te krijgen. Allemaal versleten zei de medewerkster. Drankjes zijn buiten proportie 0.75 mineraalwater €7,50 0.2L cola 3,80. Ochtendpersoneel is niet fijn. Deel avondpersoneel en restaurantmanager loopt hard. Ik zou dit hotel niet aanbevelen. Het is 4 sterren door de voorzieningen maar kwalitatief oud, versleten en qua eten doorsnee 2 sterren.

een hotel waar we vooraf niks vanaf wisten, maar bijzonder goed is meegevallen. We hebben bovendien kunnen genieten van hun heropstart promotie en een nacht gratis gekregen (waarvoor onze dank !!!). Hotel is zeer goed gelegen voor mooie natuurwandelingen; openbaar vervoer vlakbij. Gemoedelijke sfeer. Gezellig restaurant met zeer lekker eten en vlotte vriendelijke bediening. Vers fruitsap bij het ontbijt. Zeer gezellige bar met veel keuze en betaalbare drankjes. Prima zwembaden '(binnen & buiten) & saunalandschap. Zeer positief is het feit dat de menu's die op onze restauranttafel lagen in het Engels waren opgesteld (voor buitenlandse gasten); ook tof dat we een gratis jazz concert in de bar hebben kunnen volgen. Wat vonden we nu minder : de gratis lunchsnack kon beter; het water op de kamer is te betalen; de badkamer is veel te klein en hopeloos verouderd; en tenslotte : geen enkele Nederlandstalige zender op TV (bvb BVN).

Fantastic location in the middle of the national park with a wide view of the black forest. The formerly family-run hotel has been acquired recently by new owners which resulted into some changes - not for the better yet. The personnel has changed also - the new team has not yet reached the same level of attention, of caring and effectiveness - fortunately, the great wellness and fitness team is still the same! The food is of OK quality but outstanding as it used to be.

Stayed one night during the snowstorms of 2023 that shut down large parts of southern Germany and the service and hospitality we received at this hotel were unapparelled. We stayed here just as an overnight after driving all day from Austria but it was one of the most memorable nights on our driving trip around Germany and Austria. Highly recommend!

Set high up in the mountains, this hotel offers superb views (in clear weather) of the surrounding Black Forest. Very much a hotel for walkers and out door guests, however it is very convenient for those wishing to visit more of the Black Forest and Baden-Baden. The rooms are tastefully furnished but not tea or coffee making facilities which would have been nice after a day out. The swimming pool is nice and there are bathrobes and towels provided in your room. The bar (in September) did not open until 8pm, which we felt was rather late and if you wished to have a pre-dinner drink you were directed to the outdoor terrace which was ok, but could be cold. The restaurant is buffet style for starters and desserts with a choice of three dishes for your main. They are able to cater for dietary needs without too much fuss. Altogether a nice stay.

A wonderful hotel in a beautiful setting in the Black Forest National Park. Old World charm with nice amenities. An excellent location whether you’re there for relaxation or outdoor adventures!

Great location in the Black forest with plenty of nice walking trails nearby. The rooms were spacious,thankfully we got moved to a nice wellness suite due to construcrion works. The pool area inside and outside is nice although we didn't spend much time there due to the construction work. The staff were friendly from reception to housekeeping until it came to our first night at dinner where it really depends on who is serving you. We had a waiter who was not so friendly and did not seem to like serving so much so we left early. Mrs.Brose was fantastic and so professional and looked after us really well including making sure gluten free options were available and went one step ahead and had gluten free bread already on our breakfast table and she was on top of everything ensuring breakfast ran smoothly with her friendly approach.
Manu the customer service manager was also fantastic in looking after us and thankfully we moved to his dinner service area for the second night which was a totally different experience to the first night in a much better way. Manu made us feel welcome and was so professional having listened to our unwelcomed experience the previous night. The good aspect about this hotel is that the the management listened and acknowledged our poor experience on arrival and thanks to Viola turned into a most memorable relaxing and enjoyable time. We really appreciated it so thank you Manu, Viola and Mrs.Brose. Our 2 little dogs also had a good time.

I was on a business trip and loved my stay at the Hotel. The rooms are a little bit older but very comfortable and clean. The wellness area is quit nice. The view from the rooms to the National Park are great. Breakfast is amazing and delicious. And I would recommend booking a 5 Course Dinner Menu with wine Pairings. It was just amazing.

Peaceful hotel overlooking the black forest with several small villages and towns that have lots of bars, restaurants and things to do. With comfortable rooms and nice facilities, our stay was very pleasant.
We only stayed for one night as a stop off point on the way home as we wanted somewhere to relax after visiting lots of towns and doing lots of driving. I don't think the hotel is really set up for our kind of stay as the reception is not maned between 21:00 and 07:00 which made checking out a problem for us. We had to leave at 6am and found that all the doors were locked and no staff to let us out. We had to hunt for an escape door that wasn't alarmed to leave. There was definitely a shortage of staff in general, they were all lovely and good at their job but some facilities, such as the pool side bistro were not manned so we couldn't easily order refreshments without going to find someone who then had to call the bar and get them to bring drinks. I'm sure it's because we were there in their off season but I do think that if they accept bookings then all the advertised facilities need to be properly staffed and I think that a 4 star hotel should have reception staff on at all times.
