Impuls Hotel Tirol

We visited the Tyrol 6 years ago, and had a wonderful time in one of the rather lovely modern rooms. It is, overall, an excellent hotel. Great leisure and wellness facilities, good food, nice staff, spotlessly clean. This review should not put anyone off going there. We will likely return. But, there is always a but. This year we were in Room 25 on the ground floor. A spacious, but traditional room. However, the carpet was covered in stains, or discoloured patches. It looked like someone had dribbled bleach all over it in an attempt to get rid of some other unsavoury stain. This was off-putting. The sink was cracked in two places. The shower temperature varied wildly during use in busy times, going from pleasant to uncomfortably hot to cool unpredictably. The room itself was extremely hot due in part to hot pipes running through the wall at the head of the bed, making it difficult for my wife to sleep. Management resolved that promptly, however. The biggest concern was the built in hairdryer in the bathroom. It had been smashed at some point previously, leaving the internals exposed, with only a flimsy piece of thermal card between the coil and the wet environment . This is obviously a burn risk, but much more importantly a serious electrocution risk. Tens of people die annually worldwide of electrocution due to faulty hairdryers. All it takes is a thin film of water between the live internals and the hand holding the dryer. The sockets should be fitted with ground fault safety cutouts but they are not always effective. We reported this on Monday and it wasn't dealt with till Thursday after the intervention of the Crystal rep. Lastly, housekeeping did not replace wet tools, tissues, soap, dirty cups till specifically requested for half the week. A different housekeeper took over and did all those things. So, this is a fantastic hotel. I highly recommend it for a ski holiday, and I would go back. But room 25 needs attention, and a serious health and safety issue should never be ignored, and the hairdryer should have been disabled or replaced immediately. (We were given an alternative hairdryer two days after reporting and it was fixed three days after, for clarification). I hope the hotel owner sees this, and understands I mean this to be constructive. He and his wife have an excellent hotel, and I hope to return with my wife in the future.

Lovely hotel, about a 5 minute walk from the town square, and 50m from the ski bus stop, in a quiet location. We had a comfortable superior room with balcony, comfortable bed, tea and coffee making facilities (ie kettle), recommend take your own teabags, no fridge, safe. Modern bathroom with frosted door. Slippers/bathrobes, spa towels. Not a great deal of storage space, but we managed. The staff in particular are exceptional, friendly, helpful, and professional. My partner had upset stomach one day, they couldn;t do enough for him, bringing him herbal teas etc. The evening meal consisted of salad buffet, starter, main and dessert. Wine was a reasonable price, and tap water was free. Breakfast was excellent, with a chef station for omelettes etc. Of course there is afternoon snacks. The hotel has a nice bar, with a barman who obviously loved his job. Everywhere was very clean. There is a boot room, but we opted for the excellent/modern locker system at the base of the gondola. Didn;t use the spa or the outside pool, so can;t comment on those. Couple of supermarkets in town, places to eat and drink. Some of the restaurants/cafes only take cash. There is a cash machine in the centre of town. Not too far to transfer, which is a bonus. Highly recommend.

Absolutely loved this hotel. I went for a short weekend to Bad Hofgastein with my daughter and we had the most amazing time. The hotel had the most incredible spa area and outdoor thermal pool. Our room was stunning with incredible views and everything you need. Also loved how it was close to town and lifts. ski stops etc.. What made this hotel stand out was the fact that it's a spa hotel, and also a family hotel. So you can get the best spa weekend, while also having a glass of wine and incredible food. We had the same table each night with our name on it and staff were so lovely. The hotel owner Christoph Weiermayer is an artist and designer and his art is around the hotel. The attention to detail really stands out here. They also do radon treatment, which is amazing.. Even though the trip was just too short, I literally came home feeling totally energised. We will return.

What a lovely place to stay. The Hotel owners are rightly proud of it after 100 years of family ownership. It is friendly, relaxed, spotlessly clean, good food and great spas and pools. All the staff are excellent, Sebastian looked after us in the evenings and was a credit to his profession. Breakfasts are a multitude of offerings, with a chef to cook eggs and bacon to your liking. The room was lovely. Modern alpine feel, great bathroom (except maybe the shower tray could have been larger as it did spray onto the floor) This is the only thing I can think of that I’d change. The spas and various indoor and outdoor pools offer jacuzzi jets to massage those aching muscles. Steam room and saunas also. Very plush. It’s a 10 minute walk from the cable car, which we enjoyed (get a heated locker at the station) but the owner will drive you if required or there is a bus. Great place, great holiday. This is a hotel border line a boutique and modern beautiful set up. It is in the middle of a lovely small almost country side set up. It is surrounded by beautiful alps, mountains and terrains. It is offered more than we could imagine. The stuff is very friendly with special reference to Ms. Daniella and Mr. Eddy hosts at the restaurant areas. The hotel has several amenities which enhance the stay. It is very clean. The food is great but there is always room for improvement but overall one of the best vacations.

The hotel has to be one of the cleanest I have ever stayed in. Lots of glass all spotless. Apart from the Austrian style twin rooms. ie two separate mattresses in a frame to keep them together and a lack of a shower door the stay was wonderful. Despite that our group was kept out of the restaurant and given a makeshift table in a side room, not too mention that it has to be one of the hottest hotels I have been in. But once we found the key to the fire escape and propped the door open it cooled nicely. The pool was wonderful along with the welcome spa. Ideally situated close to the town centre and with a very near bus stop for ski slope lift access.
