I recently stayed at the EVEN Hotel Austin Downtown near the Domain, and it was a fantastic experience! The hotel’s location is incredibly convenient, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and major highways. Whether you're here for business or leisure, everything you need is just minutes away. The room was spacious, clean, and designed for comfort. The bed was exceptionally cozy, and I loved the modern, wellness-focused amenities, like in-room workout equipment. The overall vibe was refreshing and relaxing. One of the best parts? The value for money is outstanding. Compared to other hotels in the area, EVEN Hotel offers great rates without sacrificing quality. Plus, the parking lot is huge—no stressful circling for a spot, which is a rare perk in downtown areas. If you’re looking for a convenient, comfortable, and reasonably priced stay in Austin, I highly recommend EVEN Hotel!

Our experience was solid. Here are my pros and cons Pros: The pricing was fair. Rooms, for the most part, are clean and maintained. Rooms are spacious. The position of the aircon is good, doesn't blow straight at you like some other places. The Room didn't smell. Both the shower and sink have good water pressure. The service was solid, the lady we met was welcoming and she got straight to the point. Rooms are equipped with a microwave and fridge which is convenient. The beds are spacious and the mattress is supportive. Cons. The carpet in the room as well as the tiles in the bathroom are a bit sticky. Not sure if that's due to the high moisture or if they are not cleaned well. Some might find it nasty. The gym only has a cable machine which is alright but some more equipment would have been much better. They advertise saying they have a great breakfast however it isn't anything crazy. Just some eggs, waffles that you have to make yourself, and some coffee. Not much variety overall. This is nitpicky, but the furniture is a bit old and could use some polish/maintenance. The biggest con for me was the location, its located right beside the frontage road which is in theory good, but during rush hour the road becomes completely jammed with cars. Especially at the time of writing this review because there is a lot of construction going on nearby so driving in and out of the residence can be dangerous and annoying. Overall: This place is great for staying a couple nights on a short trip however I wouldn't recommend staying here long term. Its safe and has mostly everything you need.

Cambria is a newer hotel amidst the redevelopment projects taking place near Rainey Street, a historic landmark of homes turned into entertainment venues. Cambria is opposite side of the spectrum with innovative decor and relaxation. Note that parking costs 49USD per day with valet access only. We chose not to rent a car based on our needs in Austin. Came to visit my son and his family with my eldest son, so we wanted to have some options near nightlife activities. Local drivers shared info on the changes made to the nearby historic street, and staff was friendly with all needs. The water statiins were a plus. Where I think Cambria can improve is in the price of the rooms, menu items and operation hours of their lobby bar/roof bar since staff was short during our stay. Walking to the entertainment street required the back alley short trek, and that aspect took away from the lush atmosphere of the hotel. Grafitti and Limestone hotel venues can easily adjust their marketung strategies towards in-house entertainment along with the Valet arrangement to flow more smoothly and affordably. It’s a lovely hotel which can become full circle staycation with a few adjustments regarding that aspect. New business developments working alongside grass roots businesses is key to smooth changes for both visitors and long-time locals. The pool atmosphere is great, the gym is clean, and the first floor waiting area an easy meeting spot.

Very happy with this hotel. A convenient location to get to the Moody Center in a short time frame, amongst other spots we planned on going too.

Very functional hotel with basic breakfast and a nice quiet park nearby, 20 minutes from Downtown Austin. I stayed in both a basic room with a queen bed, and a suite (they turned out to be identical), around the Texas Eclipse in April 2024. Pros: * Even the most basic room is very functional: desk and ergonomic chair for computer work, mini-fridge, microwave, couch, comfortable bed * Basic breakfast until 9am: microwaveable burritos and biscuits, hard boiled eggs, milk and cereal, apples, oranges, coffee, juice * Very helpful staff (held onto my luggage, received packages, printed labels, extended my reservation several times) * Nice quiet park to walk or jog in, 3 minutes away by foot (the MetCenter Hike & Bike trail). Hardly anybody there every time I went. * Small fitness room with 3 cardio machines * $8 shuttle service to the airport, plus free pickup from the airport * The elevator now works Cons: * The WiFi was extremely fast in the lobby, but on the 3rd floor - unstable, and would disconnect briefly several times per hour. Like most other hotels, WiFi also kicks you out 2+ times a day, and you have to login (with the same password). I don't really get the point of this, and if the logout happens during a video call, you're screwed until you reconnect 💥, OR if you're on your phone, it goes on data and chews up bandwidth to handle the video. Microtel, please stop this dumb practice. * The TV's WiFi worked only on day one (so other devices could connect and cast to it), and never since then. * The area doesn't have anything interesting within a 5-minute walk, but is a ~15-minute Uber ride to downtown Austin. Ubers take ~5 minutes to arrive. So consider 20 minutes to get to Downtown. * Walls aren't the thickest so I could hear the neighbors bumping things into them, but overall both rooms were quiet. * The mattress was a tiny bit squeaky * Breakfast ends at 9am. Other places have breakfast until 10am. * The suite may be slightly bigger but I didn't see ANY advantage vs. the basic room. Really not worth the price difference. Exactly the same layout and furniture. Not sure why they charge more for it.

Got a room for a convention and it was very clean and big! The staff were amazing and helpful. For downsides though with the refrigerator I had to refrigerate medicine and it stayed room temp

The hotel is okay for staying for a couple nights. There is a free parking.

Inchecken ging vlot en Veronica bij de receptie was erg vriendelijk. Toen ik eenmaal op de kamer was, en ik water op de vloer had gemorst, zag ik dat het witte toiletpapier helemaal zwart was geworden ÉN er ook nog eens met ***** haren op zat. En dat allemaal op nog geen vierkante meter. Ik belde de lobby en vroeg hoe vaak de vloeren werden gedweild. ”Elke dag” werd me verteld. Ik vertelde wat ik had gevonden en kreeg de vraag of ik van kamer wilde wisselen, waarop ik ”ja!” zei. Toen ik naar beneden ging om de nieuwe sleutel op te halen, nam ik het gepropte toiletpapier mee en ze maakte er een foto van voordat ze het in de prullenbak gooide! Er stonden twee zeer grote, goed verlichte automaten in een gang naast de hoofdlobby, en de ijsmachine werkte prima en het ijs was schoon en stevig bevroren. Ik besloot dat ik te moe was om te controleren of de vloer van de nieuwe kamers vies was, dus ik besloot om nooit meer met mijn blote voeten over de vloer te lopen. De dagmanager, Mari, was erg aardig en de koffie was heet en vers uit de thermoskan op het bijzettafeltje... Heet water en theezakjes waren ook beschikbaar. Als je een hekel hebt aan ”zoet en zacht”, neem dan je eigen natuurlijke suiker mee. Ik liep tegen het hoofd van de huishouding aan en vertelde toevallig hoe walgelijk vies de vloeren in mijn eerste kamer waren. Ik vertelde haar dat de nachtmanager een foto had gemaakt van wat ik op mijn wc-papier had geveegd en dat ze zou gaan vragen of ze het mocht zien. Later hoorde ik dat Mayra dat inderdaad had gedaan. Dus dat was een goede oog voor detail. Alles in de kamer werkte prima, inclusief de afstandsbediening en de tv. De magnetron was brandschoon en zag er gloednieuw uit en had zelfs een kinderslot voor die gezinnen die met nieuwsgierige kinderen reizen en de betekenis van ”NEE” nog niet helemaal begrepen hebben 😵💫. De koelkast was brandschoon en zag er ook nieuw uit. De wifi was sterk en betrouwbaar. Ik liep langs het zwembad, dat, zoals ik zag, gesloten was (begrijpelijk voor deze tijd van het jaar!). Het stond vol water, maar ik moet zeggen dat het leek op een moeras in Louisiana en ik was erop voorbereid dat er elk moment een alligator de donkere, slijmerige trap op zou klimmen. 😆 De parkeerplaats is 's nachts ZEER goed verlicht rondom het hele terrein, wat een zeer welkome aanblik is! Omdat het vlak bij de snelweg ligt, zijn er geen spannende plekken om naartoe te lopen, maar er IS wel een fantastische supermarkt (HEB) op 1,1 kilometer afstand, rechtdoor Rundeburg aan Lamar/Rundeburg. Verder is er een overvloed aan foodtrucks die Zuid-Amerikaanse gerechten serveren, op slechts een paar meter van de voorkant van het hotel en aan de overkant van de straat. Ik heb er geen van geprobeerd, dus ik kan er geen mening over geven. Ik hoop dat dit het lezen waard was, als je inderdaad tot hier bent gekomen! Proost! 🥂
