To start off with, all of the good things about this hotel it does well. It’s close to bus stops, there’s places within walking distance to grab food, the price is very competitive for the area. The staff at the front desk were the most welcoming and friendly people I’ve met at a hotel front desk for the duration of my trip.
Now on to the bad. The first glaring problems came from the parking area door having a sign saying it was locked for safety — it was not, even during the late hours of the night. There is signs posted all over the hotel stating that the fire alarms are out of service, and to call 911 instead for any emergency. My room was clean, but very obviously not taken care of in other ways, wallpaper near the windows had been damaged by water infiltration and was peeling back. The tub’s drain was clogged enough that the previous visitor had unscrewed the plug in an attempt to get it to drain faster, which did not work. Showers quickly turned into a bath, and if you choose to take a bath you would need to leave it to drain after you got out. The shower pressure while amazing, left a lot to be desired for temperature, it was a little bit above lukewarm at best. Moving on to the rest of the room, the TV, microwave, and fridge were excellent, the bed mattress had indentations from being slept on for many years. The walls were very thin, and transmitted sound easily, from both other rooms, and the hallway.
Overall, good if you’re on a budget, not for families though.
