Point Pleasant Resort

The resort itself is pretty with great views from the main club house and the property itself is well maintained. We always felt very safe. The pictures used for the room we stayed in were not at all accurate and our room was very outdated and needed new furniture and rugs although it was spacious and had a nice balcony (not the view in the pictures online). The pools were too cold to swim in. The restaurant on the water was convenient and nice; didn’t try the other one as we had our 4 year old with us. Our VIP access said we would get two free drinks a day and we only got those one of the seven days we were there. We rented a car (which I would recommend) so we spent most of our time off the resort exploring. We plan on going back to St. Thomas but will probably stay somewhere else next time.

The property grounds were stunning and probably the best part about this place. The service was terrible, slow check in and check out. We booked king bed and upon arrival were told that they were all sold out and only had queen beds available! It is ridiculous since I was sharing my bed with my cousin ( luckily we were skinny enough to fit on one bed and we made no big deal). The most terrifying experience was seeing cockroaches in the kitchen. We had to steam all of our clothes right before we left so we won’t get them home with us . The phone didn’t work like at all… and when you ask any request at the reception the answer is NO!!! Restaurant onsite was nice and the owner was super friendly. Prices were ok, just like anything on the island was overpriced. If you’re ok with a budget friendly accommodation than this place might be just for you. Be Swede of high steps that you’ll have to walk every up and down, for fur girls that was a nice workout, however, if you have knees problems that could be challenging.

The views from the rooms were gorgeous, the staff was friendly, and the Sun and Sea restaurant was fun with great food (Ocean180's food was not worth the price)! The full kitchen was great, the water pressure was good, the electricity never failed. And the private beach is small but adequate; we saw quite a few fish snorkling there (even a baby swordfish!). But the cons: * The property is located in a lower-income area (we drove around nearly the whole island). Mostly-secure, gated community, but one time I was approached by (very clearly) a non-resident who likely came from the pedestrian access, next to Sun and Sea, who asked me if I wanted to buy some ****. * The property itself is very, very steep with LOTS of stairs and hills. * Whatever room number they emailed you that you would get is NOT guaranteed. * The lobby is only open until 6pm, so be careful if your plane arrives later and you get there after hours to check in. * The wifi was adequate but spotty, so don't rely too much on it. * The unit we stayed in, D32, had louver-style windows that wouldn't close all the way, so the AC wouldn't maintain in the bedrooms. Also, one of the dining room chairs were broken, and there were bugs in the recliner cushions that the maintenance staff and exterminator couldn't detect. (Ask! They did compensate us.) * If you have a maintenance issue, it could take up to a week for full resolution. * The gym itself, especially the floor, was very dirty, and most equipment was broken.

This is a quaint and delightful place to stay. The views are incredible, the staff friendly and the food in the Sun & Sea cafe amazing. If you’re not into fancy and expensive, this is the perfect place for you.

Loved the location and the views. It is obviously an older resort, but has been well maintained. Was really comfortable and I liked that there were restaurants on the premises.

Very nice Property with 3 pool options. Restaurants near by also. The staff was very friendly and willing to help anyway they could. Very pleasing stay…

Beatuful views! Just be aware there is alot of stairs and stwep inclines to walk up and down.

Nice resort. Views were amazing! Lots of walking up and down hill but they have stairs and shuttles. Pools were clean, we did not get to eat at Ocean 180 but the Sun and Sea was delicious at the resort. Overall we enjoyed our stay!

Property is clean, staff very friendly. Very hilly, not for those who have trouble with stairs. Shuttles available to get around the property. Room had everything we needed. Rustic island feel yet all the amenities. Highly recommend.
