Antico Monastero di Anacapri

Warm and welcoming experience with Alexandro and family! They ensured our stay in Capri went smoothly, with local recommendations of the best attractions and ensuring the Blue Grotto was open on the day. The room was clean and well maintained. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed a wonderful stay outside the tourist season. (it's a pity that it was short) The friendly host provided us with all the information, was very helpful and communicative, served an excellent breakfast, was accommodating with an earlier check in... The apar**ent was clean, don't expect luxury, but you can feel the a**osphere of the building's history. I highly recommend and thank the host again for his care.

The breakfast was good but the stay was odd and not for you if you require full privacy. We were required to leave our room key outside of our room whenever we left the building, and we later noticed that they come into your room when you’re gone quite frequently - for example there is a window facing the shower that opens to the hallway of the apar**ent and we shut it to shower and when we came back from town it was open again (and no cleaning was done). As two female travelers it made us kinda uncomfortable knowing we didn’t have total privacy from the hosts. The air conditioner didn’t work when we turned it on so we didn’t think to turn it off when we left for an hour into town and came back with a note on the AC unit asking to turn the unit off when we leave the building. I understand that there is keep up needed for an older building but it’s weird for hosts to enter as they please without consent.

Amenities and breakfast were great. However, when we arrived they informed us that we were not allowed to lock our doors. Red flag for two young women that are traveling internationally but we went along with it since they seemed kind and the location was great. The next day we left for only two hours and came back to a note in our room to keep air conditioner (that wasn’t even working) off. We also found the window to the bathroom open to the hall when we had closed it previously. Might be cultural differences but I found it highly inappropriate that they went into our room seemingly multiple times without consent. We’ve been traveling for a month and never had an experience where this was the norm. I would avoid this location or ask for specifics prior to booking.

Quiet, very clean, great location and a historical home. The host is very accommodating. Our room was ready early so we were able to drop off our day bag early and go out and explore. Lovely breakfast. Highly recommend.

The location is excellent - close to the Main Street but quiet. The property is clean and well maintained. The host is extremely polite and helpful.

Excellent service, very friendly, professional and felt at home. Don Carlos and his son greeted me and my wife at the door and were very helpful. They gave us instructions on places to visit and eat. All the recommendations were worthwhile. I recommend anyone to stay at this location while on your visit to the beautiful island of Capri.

Carlo and Rosaria and son Alessandro Scoppa made us feel like family from the first day. We stayed in what was formerly part of the nuns'choir of the monastery. We had a spacious suite with a barrel vault ceiling, a table and chairs, a small balcony with chairs, and a niche with a sink and counter for making tea or coffee. Signore Carlo made us scrambled eggs and bacon every day for breakfast the ten days that we stayed, his wife made the most scrumptious and moist Caprese cake we ever ate, and always fruit, yogurt, assorted breads and toast and cappuccino. They loaned us beautiful picture books that son Alessandro spent a couple of hours explaining some of the history of the island and the various villas. Signora Rosaria generously washed our clothes and did not charge us. On our last day as we were checking out, Alessandro ran to catch us at the bus station to give us a cell phone cord we had forgotten. God willing, we cannot wait to stay with them again!
