We boekten op basis van de website. Mooie foto's erg sfeervol! Een nieuw hotel gebaseerd op respect voor het milieu maakte ons erg enthousiast. De vrij hoge prijzen leken ons een echte servicekwaliteit en een onvergetelijk verblijf te garanderen. Mooi zo . De kamer is eenvoudig. Gestyled in de stijl van industrieel design. De nachtkastjes zijn klein en de enorme zorg die aan de technologie van de schakelaars is besteed, zorgt ervoor dat je 10 minuten besteedt aan het uitzoeken hoe je het uit kunt zetten zonder het aan te zetten, enz. enz. Modern. We haatten het systeem van "geen scheiding" van de slaapkamer met de badkamer. Het is nogal onaangenaam om op 1 meter van de gootsteen te slapen en ik, die graag 's morgens vroeg hardloop, wachtte liever tot iedereen wakker was voordat ik een douche nam op 1 meter van het bed. Ondanks dat er glazen deuren zijn, bevindt u zich in dezelfde ruimte als de douche en het toilet. Ik las hierboven in een opmerking dat we het aandurfden om een reiziger die deze regeling niet op prijs had gesteld te adviseren om naar de toiletten op de benedenverdieping te gaan! Het is waar dat het nog discreter is om naar boven te zoeken, de slaapkamerdeur te openen, een steile trap op te draaien en naar de badkamer beneden te gaan waar een minigymnastiek is.Naast een grote zitzak...niet goed. kamer netheid oke. aardig personeel. Maar constant ballet vanaf het ochtendgloren van elektrische auto's die het ontbijt afzetten en schoonmaakpersoneel dat praat en dat is normaal. geluidsisolatie is bijna nul. we hadden een familie die tot 1 uur 's nachts op het terras praatte en daarna in hun villa en we volgden alle gesprekken live. de villa's raken elkaar evenals de bovenste terrassen met uitzicht op spinalonga. Maar je volgt het leven van je buren die aan je terras vastzitten.Pijnlijk. de zwembaden van de villa's zijn niet erg groot, wat niet relevant zou zijn als je wat meer ruimte op deze plek had. Maar het water staat aan de rand van je kamer, gelijk met je balkon, en als je buurman van middernachtbaden houdt, jij ook!!! de kabelbaan is leuk als hij werkt, maar traag. De kinderen vinden het geweldig, dat is het belangrijkste. de twee grote zwembaden aan de onderkant zijn niet verwarmd en we vroegen ons af waarom er weinig mensen in waren. Het is koud !!! Met 4 parasols voor schaduw en absoluut geen zwembadservice. Het is aan jou om je handdoeken te halen, en hoewel we in 8 dagen 1 meter van de bar bij het zwembad waren, kwam niemand ons vragen of we wilden drinken of eten of dat we iets nodig hadden. Dit is helemaal geen 5-sterrenservice. De gastro is niet slecht, maar de keuken is erg ingewikkeld en de plaats laat je niet dromen. het ontbijtbuffet duurt een eeuwigheid omdat je alles voorgeschoteld krijgt, dus je haast je om aan te geven wat je wilt, proberen het brood of iets anders niet te vergeten, anders moet je weer in de rij staan. het personeel is erg jong vriendelijk maar niet erg e

The spa easily is the greatest selling point (and considering the fantastic views and facilities, it’s impressive!). The masseuse, Albina, gave me the Cretan Massage package. She was simple incredible and easily the best massage I’ve ever gotten. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is the first hotel I have stayed at in Elounda that I want to return to. The room really makes it, we had a Premium room with private heated pool… it was heaven! The view over the sea to Spinolonga island (worth a visit!) is just so fabulous and behind / above us large eagles swirled over the mountains in groups gliding on the sea breeze. There’s a nice feeling of balance between nature and modernity reflected in the architecture of the resort too, with wood, natural stones next to render, thoughtful planting, metal and glass and off course water (the pools are salt water too). Really nicely done. Now, being honest, the thing that let Cayo down was the food - we didn’t think the breakfast was good, it was a buffet and generally cold or Luke warm items and nothing better or different to anywhere else, with this level of lifestyle I don’t want to have to queue and pick my own (cold) and not great quality breakfast. We also ordered pizzas as room service and they were like frozen style pizzas / poor quality. This stopped us from booking the hotel restaurants because if they can’t get these things right then we didn’t want to risk paying a premium (in comparison to the great restaurants in near by Plaka) for food that wasn’t excellent. but there are so many great options for food near by that it doesn’t matter - the main issue is that you don’t want to leave your room!! If you do venture out then the main pool is very lovely with plenty of loungers and all with a call button for service. The beach area is a shuttle bus / short drive in the hotels EV or a 5min walk and the beach boys are on it! They are quick to serve you and make sure you’re comfortable and ninjas when it comes to ejecting non hotel stayers from the beds. We recommend sea shoes as the beach is pebble and can be windy - but we were there in October and the sea was a lovely warm temperature. It’s worth getting a package deal at the spa because the therapists are excellent but also because it’s actually good value for what you get, so speak to them when you arrive about what’s on offer but maybe worth booking your first treatment in advance and having the chat after / once your happy (and as it currently runs, you will be). The manageress is very warm and welcoming and seemed to be bending backwards to accommodate all the guests requests. She was the only person in the hotel to acknowledge my birthday during our stay so thank you to the spa team. We stayed in room 607 and our cleaner was fantastic - she made sure we were fully stocked with water and coffee and came with a smile and a joke every day. We also loved the evening service were they pop by with water and fresh towels (if needed) and big smiles. We will return for sure.

We had the most relaxing stay at Cayo Resort and would not hesitate to come back. The staff are so friendly and attentive. From the moment we arrived, we were taken in the golf buggy to our room and shown around. The room was modern and spacious with a comfy bed and fantastic shower. The terrace with private pool with incredible sea views made our stay so special and we spent a lot of time relaxing there. We also spent time at the main communal pools which were always quiet and well maintained. It was possible to call for drinks service to your sun bed which added to the luxury feel of the hotel. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast each morning overlooking the pool and sea. There was a huge selection of quality choices. We also made use of the fantastic spa facilities. My partner and I booked the Holy Grail facial and Cretan full body massage, both with Albina, and they were some of the best spa treatments we have ever had. We came out feeling so relaxed and well taken care of. It was also a nice touch to have private use of the spa facilities too. Our main wish for this holiday was to feel relaxed and forget about how stressed of day to day life, and that is certainly what we got from our stay here.

We stayed 6 days at Cayo in an Excecutive room on the fourth "floor" For me it was the most perfect place to recover and enjoy our final days of our holiday. I just came from hospital where I had to spend a few days with hart problems. The welcome in the hotel was very pleasant with a cool drink and a very nice lady who brought us to our room. You could see that she was very proud of the resort and she showed us around with a big smile. All staff was great btw!! Very kind and warm pleasant people! Our room with private pool was immaculate. The view even more. The "elevator" is a very nice way of getting to your room. The distance from the resort to Plaka is perfect. What can I say more? "Thanks so much Cayo, for giving us a great stay"! We really felt welcome. Hope to see you again!!

Lovely boutique feel hotel in a lovely quaint village. I really enjoyed the food - Kelaria restaurant was delicious. Hotel has been designed really well; minimalistic and modern. Spa was lovely and my masseuse, Katarina, went above and beyond for me. Thank you to her Village has lots of lovely restaurants and the hotels beach bar with private section of the beach was brilliant!

The design and style of the property is excellent with many little things considered, but what really makes it special is the staff who will always go the extra mile with nothing too much trouble. Bravo for the training and customer engagement.

Lovely week away with my elderly mum and sisters. Fabulous location. Well appointed and immaculately clean villas, friendliest and most helpful of staff. Manos in the spa was one of the best masseurs - staff spa reception just super informative and attentive. Private sauna and steam room a lovely touch- makes the spa experience really quite exceptional. Beautiful views of the bay and spinalonga island. I have limited mobility issues and the vernacular lift was perfect for getting to and from the villa. It's been a really relaxed and easy week.
