Hot Springs hotels in Oita Prefecture, Japan

Location of the hotel is great. I came from Hiroshima. The journey is very long. I stayed 3 nights here. Breakfast was kinda okay, they have alot of spread. I paid for 1 x breakfast at 3300 yen. Personally i feel the price can be lower. Afew items to highlights were Tempura prawn, mentaiko, corn soup, soba and grilled beef. They have welcome drink (tea/coffee/soft drinks) for certain hours. Topup 1000 yen you can get unlimited alcohol. The location of the hotel is excellent, close to the station. And also they have 2 properties . Next to each other. There’s 6 laudry machines. A sky pool, sauna and indoor bath (onsen). I can see the hotel emphasis/uses alot of technology . Your door card can be paid for many things (laundry and vending machine) including partner restaurants outside the hotels. Where you can charge the expenses to your room. There’s a touch pad in the room, for you go control lighting, air conditioning , check hotel information and even control the TV. The only downside is the touchpad is very bright. It takes too long for it to go into idle mode. The cast and mirroring was lagging for me. As for the wifi, i find it weird that it only allows in my room. I had not as for the hotel wide wifi, not sure if there’s one. The room wifi was okay. The pool on the roof was great . You can see almost the whole beppu. Sadly I did not take photos of it. It was very chill . I would definitely stay here again just for the pool and onsen. The room clothes hangers were kinda little. There’s only 4 of them. The ice machine is at L2 inbetween the fitness center and the laundry. I would like to suggest to relocate it. As it is located directly next to the smoking room. And both times I am there to collect the ice with the cup provided, I almost out of breath from the cigarette. The Washing machine had locking mechanism on it, so other guests would not take your clothes. Select checkout was brilliant, they have 2 counters for it. I ate a breakfast, did 2 laundry and one vending machine. It was calculated perfectly. The staff at the reception were very helpful . Overall the stay was good! Will stay again if I am in Beppu. Thank you .

We boekten het Sora western kamertype, dat werd beschreven als met twee tweepersoonsbedden en drie futonbedden. Bij aankomst zag ik echter geen futonbedden in de kamer en werden ze ook niet aangeboden. Qua service had ik een betere introductie van de kamers verwacht gezien de prijs die ik betaal. We kregen een zeer eenvoudige introductie van de gemeenschappelijke ruimte, maar kregen geen rondleiding over waar alles zich bevindt, welke Yukata we binnen en buiten moesten dragen, etc. Ik heb een vergelijkbare prijs betaald voor een ander onsenhotel waar we bij aankomst een veel betere ontvangst kregen. We vroegen wel om ontbijt op de kamer voor meer privacy, en hoewel we dat voor de helft van de prijs konden doen bij andere hotels in Fukuoka, leek het personeel het niet te begrijpen toen we ernaar vroegen. Over het algemeen zijn de voorzieningen en de kamer erg goed, maar qua service is het wisselvallig.

This is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at, probably because it’s very new. I was extremely satisfied with all the facilities in my room. The space was great, and having a kitchen and a washing machine was a huge plus. There’s also a rooftop onsen available for guests, which I really enjoyed. I absolutely loved the free welcome drinks at the entrance I honestly wish I could take the machine home! Overall, the stay was very comfortable. If I were to give one suggestion, it would be to improve the privacy of the onsen slightly, as it’s still possible to see inside from the entrance, which may cause some privacy concerns.

Een zeer onaangename ervaring die niet in woorden te beschrijven is. Het hotel ligt vrij ver van het JR Beppu Station, ongeveer 760 meter, maar het is gemakkelijk te vinden. Volg gewoon de hoofdweg en loop naar het einde om het te zien. Nadat ik het hotel succesvol had gevonden, heb ik ingecheckt bij een klein meisje dat stagiaire was. Ze sprak helemaal geen Engels en kon niet goed communiceren. Toen kwam Yao Mozi. Het diner dat ze bestelde had de vorm van een maaltijdcheque. Ze moest op zoek gaan naar een restaurant om te eten. Er waren meer dan twintig restaurants in Beppu. Ze vroeg me er ter plekke een uit te kiezen en het te vertellen haar. Ten slotte kregen we een kaart in het Engels. Op dat moment waren we behoorlijk optimistisch en beseften we de ernst van het probleem niet. Toen we rond 5 uur bij ons favoriete restaurant aankwamen, zei de ober dat ze vol waren en ons niet wilden accepteren! Japanse restaurants draaien de tafel niet om en vragen ons gewoon om te vertrekken. We hadden geen alternatief, dus zijn we direct teruggelopen naar het hotel om te kijken welk ander restaurant er was. We hadden al een hele tijd gelopen en hadden erg veel honger, dus we dachten erover om naar het dichtstbijzijnde restaurant te gaan, maar er waren er meer dan 20 mensen in de rij, en we konden nog steeds niets te eten krijgen. Voor de derde keer terug naar het hotel gegaan om eten te zoeken. Na talloze ontberingen (kon het niet vinden, blindelings de weg gevraagd etc.) kwamen we bij het derde restaurant aan. Het was nog steeds vol. De ober zei dat er alleen statafels, ik had zo'n honger dat ik staand moest eten. Ik boekte oorspronkelijk een hoteldiner om mijn zorgen te besparen, maar uiteindelijk liep ik meer dan 20.000 stappen en stond ik nog steeds. De hotelkamer is superklein en de bedden zijn allemaal speciaal een maat kleiner gemaakt. Ik ben 164 en mijn voeten voelden alsof ze uit bed staken. Er zijn warmwaterbronnen, maar deze zijn niet groot. Er zijn zowel binnen als buiten warmwaterbronnen. Er waren nogal wat mensen 's nachts, dus ik bleef een tijdje rondhangen en ging toen weg. Het ontbijt was het slechtste in het reisschema van meerdere dagen. Er was niets lekkers, zoals op de foto te zien is. Niet aan te raden, want als je vanaf Beppu Station een cruise maakt, is het te ver om heen en weer te gaan.

The hotel is situated 15 minutes taxi ride from the Beppu station. So we have nowhere to go that night. But it's good enough to have hotspring and drinks in the hotel. The staff is very polite and can explain what you can do in English. Then you were lead to the room and tips rejected. We booked the Kaiseki dinner and breakfast. The dinner time is either 6pm or 6:30pm and the breakfast time 8am or 8:30. The dinner is good but maybe my expectation is quite high, it didn't reach my expectation, especially for the sashimi. For the onsen, there are 4 private onsens and 2 public. One of the private onsens is closed. Therefore we can use 3. You can use the private onsen when it is not occupied. Just lock the door and turn the plate to the other side. But all the onsen are closed by 12 midnight. And there is a room with free flow beer and soda, but it closes at 10pm. Don't drink beer before taking hotspring. There is also an onsen in our room which can be used anytime. It's hot at night but not so hot in the next morning. Overall, the view is good. The staff is good. The food is good (just not so great) and the onsens are good. Beppu is a good place to stay a few days more

The hotel is very impressive, and the overall experience was excellent. The staff speak English and provide excellent service. They also offer complimentary wine and drinks during happy hours, allowing us to relax and enjoy them after the onsen.

Walking distance within 5 mins to JR or bus station . Very convenient with lot of restaurant nearby . Plan ur trip without hassle for logistic . U wan JR , just 5 min , u wan main bus terminal , just 5 min . Am definitely will stay again if i revisit beppu again . Last a full skincare regime for free at lobby . Least ur hassle to bring all . Remember if u stay here no need to bring ur skin care ya .

The hotel itself is a bit older, and you can definitely feel its age in some areas of the property. That said, it still maintains a certain traditional charm. One thing to note is that the location isn’t the easiest to access on foot—you’ll really need a car to get around comfortably, especially if you plan to explore the surrounding area. What truly stood out during my stay was the restaurant staff. They were exceptionally helpful, attentive, and warm throughout my visit. Their hospitality made the dining experience one of the highlights of the hotel. The meals were well-prepared and thoughtfully presented, adding a special touch to each day. Overall, while the facilities could use a bit of updating and the location is best suited for travelers with a vehicle, the kindness and service of the restaurant staff made the stay worthwhile.

Hotel was about 15 mins walk from Beepu station. Hotel style and amenities was very old school japanese. Good breakfast was individually served. Room was huge for 3 persons. Extra bed was a futon which was not comfy. The sea view was amazing and beautiful. Room amenities is typically japanese style. English speaking reception and breakfast staff was very courteous, efficient and attentive. Had a ensuite onsen which we liked very much. Overall experience at this hotel was great and satisfying.

Very nice and comfortable hotel. Private spa and bath. Yummy dinner and breakfast. Environment make us more relax. We enjoy so much.
