The hotel is a collection of high-end selected hotels under Accor in France, and each MGallery has a unique story. The hotel is located in the Dongfengyun art town composed of vineyards, lavender fields and a large number of post-modern buildings. The hotel has built a post-modern building complex composed of red bricks and smooth curves, with many guest rooms, 3 restaurants and a lobby bar, a 400-square-meter indoor conference room, and a 1,300-square-meter outdoor swimming pool. The beautiful lake shore and the rolling mountains form a unique and dreamy blending scene.
"This is a very nice hotel, great location, good rooms and excellent, helpful staff. But the hotel gets bad marks in two areas. First, the food was generally very good but the Western breakfast buffet choices were nearly always cold. I tried three days in a row to get poached eggs that were not hard boiled. On the third day I got what I wanted but even then the eggs were stone cold. The second issue was the the lack of necessary security staff. The lobby bar was nice and had a young woman playing guitar in the evenings but on our second evening 4 drunks were drinking, shouting and smoking and refused to stop when the hotel staff intervened. After this things escalated and instead of having hotel security throw them out the drunks started harassing us and it got ugly so we left for our room. The hotel called our room to apologize but it was not equipped to deal with this situation and needs to have better control over their public areas. A lesson to be learned. I will be sending a separate letter to Accor management giving full details of this unfortunate event."

"Starting from good things. Room with private hot spring was nice and clean and bed and bed linen was great. Despite hot spring pool was leaking and needed to refill constantly. But no problem with that if water supply is turned on and you can operate yourself with valves. Hotel staff recommended many places for eating outside. Thanks for that!
We arrived before check in time and asked to spend our time near the pool area which was not problem. When I was looking for toilet then lady from shop told to me that I should go outside the territory and use toilet which is for camper van people. And it was not toilet but old school ditch. Fortunately it was cleaned.
Lot of things are in real life different than in pictures what you can find in web pages. Many hot springs was closed, on site was not operating restaurants and bars. Only you can order food from app or go outside. Area is under the airplanes take off route that means in daytime lot of noise.
About 6pm domestic water supply was turned off and situation lasted until our leaving next day about 11am. Hotel staff wrote that if you want to use toilet I should let them know and they will find a solution. No shower or washing. Breakfast was simple. In the breakfast area is operational coffee machine but for some reason lady behind the table told that not possible and drink cold pre brewed ice coffee? I hope that it’s not connected with lack of water supply. Machine may be filled with purified bottle water not local tap water."

"When traveling with my girlfriend, the most important thing is the hotel, followed by the food.
I've been to Mile many times, and honestly, the hotels there are generally quite good. But this time, the Mountain Retreat was a truly delightful surprise. The service was on par with a five-star international hotel. From the welcome gift to the hotel's amenities, everything made for a wonderful stay.
The lobby design is a wonderful blend of Chinese and Western elements. It's spacious, and the hand-drip coffee is excellent! The hot spring on the first floor has both public and private pools, and importantly, it's very well-ventilated—not stuffy at all! Since I drove there, I parked right next to the hotel, making it convenient to go out and explore. What surprised me most was the body lotion provided by the hotel; it smelled amazing! I only used half a bottle, but I took the rest home to find the same product online, haha. It wasn't cheap, but it was definitely worth the price. In my opinion, a truly good value experience is what I call value for money! I didn't take pictures of the room because we arrived too late and slept in a mess. You can see other people's pictures. Clean and luxurious!"

De kamer was net zo groot en comfortabel als voorheen, en de warmwaterbron was ook erg aangenaam. De volgende dag nam ik nog even een snel bad voordat ik vertrok. Het zorgde er werkelijk voor dat mijn hele lichaam ontspande. Er werd ook een vast menu geserveerd en we bestelden wat, wat goed smaakte. Het is nog steeds hetzelfde als voorheen. "We chose Mile over Jianshui for a few days' relaxation primarily because we discovered the newly opened Holiday Inn there. Our five-day stay at the Holiday Inn exceeded our expectations. First off, this is a proper hotel, not one of those trendy simplified versions. What I mean is that its design and concept are genuinely geared towards providing guests with top-notch accommodation and service. The hotel boasts numerous public facilities: a bright and spacious lobby, an elegant little bar and lounge area, a kids' play corner, a starlit swimming pool, two hot spring pools with different temperatures, and a self-service laundry room. And then there's the restaurant – I absolutely have to mention it! The chef prepares a super rich breakfast every day, always with new surprises. I'm guessing the head chef is a master from Guangdong, though he told me he's from Yunnan. As for the rooms, they are large, clean, and tastefully decorated. The bed, sheets, and duvet are all high-quality. What truly reflects the hotel's quality are the in-room furnishings: the Holiday Inn has chosen truly comfortable chairs and sofas, the kind you can relax in while reading or listening to music. The most valuable asset of this hotel, however, is its entire staff. Every single person is friendly and polite, genuinely caring for each guest. A big thank you to Xiao Ji at the front desk, Nancy at the bar, KoKo at the restaurant, and the ever-present Gavin and Jennifer, along with their entire team. The hotel's location is opposite Honghe Water Village. We walked to Dahou Park every day for a stroll, visited nearby coffee shops, tried various restaurants, and after dinner, headed to Honghe Water Village to enjoy the bustling atmosphere. We are very much looking forward to staying at this hotel again next time. Highly recommend this excellent place."

"De omgeving is erg goed. De kamer is 44 vierkante meter. Een gezin van drie kwam naar Kunming, Yunnan voor toerisme. Ik zag dit hotel op internet en het is erg mooi en betaalbaar. Toen ik 's avonds een taxi nam, leek het van buiten wel een paleis. Mijn baby was erg blij en wilde nog even spelen, ook al was het erg laat. De speeltuin en de warmwaterbronnen hier zijn erg goed. Deze warmwaterbron voelt comfortabeler aan dan de warmwaterbronnen die we in Shanghai hebben gezien. Het ontbijt is erg uitgebreid. Het is de rijkste maaltijd die ik heb gegeten in de vijf dagen dat ik door Yunnan reisde. Het is heel natuurlijk en het groen is erg mooi. Ik zal het aan mijn vrienden aanbevelen en zal hier zeker weer verblijven de volgende keer dat ik in Kunming ben."

If you book early, you can also get a free horseback riding experience. The fee includes three meals a day, you can swim, catch fish in the stream, watch the sunrise and sea of clouds, taste coffee and pick coffee beans. It is definitely a treasure manor. It was New Year's Eve, and we prepared a self-service stir-fry, which tasted good. The self-service beef hot pot was also great, with many varieties, delicious beef, and self-service drinks. What else do you want a bicycle?

The room was very spacious and well-equipped.
The decor and design were fantastic. The renovation of the historic building is quite unique, and the courtyard is breathtaking.
The housekeeping service was excellent, and any requests were promptly addressed.
The breakfast was also delicious, featuring some unique dishes.
I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Yunnan.

Anonymous UserI spent a long time choosing a hotel for our trip to Kunming because I wanted somewhere that would keep the kids entertained, but also be suitable for celebrating our wedding anniversary and a birthday. I chose this place primarily for the bathtub in this room type and its convenient location. However, once we arrived, I was truly impressed by how comprehensive the amenities are. From meals to entertainment, and catering to both children and adults, everything is taken care of. The staff were also incredibly friendly and attentive. The biggest surprise was the handwritten birthday card – in this digital age, a handwritten card really warms the heart. We booked two nights, and we didn't even leave the hotel for one of them; we spent the entire day there with the kids and never got bored. My children are already talking about coming back again.

My partner and I stayed at Pullman Lijiang Resort & Spa for two nights during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday. Overall, our experience was mixed.
The highlight of our stay was definitely the villa itself. It was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The bed was excellent—one of the most comfortable hotel beds we have slept on in a long time. We had two very restful nights, and the room provided a peaceful environment to relax after exploring Lijiang.
Unfortunately, the rest of the experience did not live up to the hotel’s luxury branding, price point, or rating. While the property may once have been a premium resort, it now feels dated and in need of renovation. Many of the facilities and amenities appear worn, and the overall condition of the hotel gives the impression that it has not been maintained to the standard expected of a luxury resort.
The biggest disappointment was the breakfast. The Western selection was very limited and of questionable quality, while the Chinese options were equally underwhelming. Even basic items such as the baozi did not taste freshly made. For a hotel in this price range, the food quality was surprisingly poor and far below expectations.
Having stayed at many other hotels across China, including less expensive and less prestigious brands, I have often enjoyed significantly better breakfast offerings and overall value. The dining experience simply does not reflect the premium rates charged by this property.
In summary, if you value a large villa and a comfortable bed, this hotel may still be worth considering. However, those expecting a true luxury resort experience, modern facilities, and high-quality dining may find themselves disappointed. The accommodation itself was enjoyable, but the amenities, maintenance, and food quality need significant improvement to justify the hotel’s reputation and pricing.

This guesthouse in Dali is absolutely fantastic! The room was spotless, clean, and tidy with no overlooked corners. The bedding was incredibly soft, skin-friendly, and fresh, making for a super comfortable stay. The whole house is equipped with smart home features, which are simple and convenient to use – a real blessing for anyone who loves ease. The owner was warm and thoughtful, patiently answering all our questions and even recommending some local, lesser-known activities, which was incredibly heartwarming. The location is also convenient for getting around. The overall experience was top-notch. If you're coming to Dali, choosing this place is a no-brainer. I genuinely recommend it to all my friends!

Honestly, I rarely post reviews—but this time I really felt like I had to, because this hotel was the highlight of my family trip to Yunnan.
From the moment we entered the hotel gate, we were already amazed. The place is even more beautiful in real life than in the photos. The staff member who communicated with us via WeChat was incredibly helpful—from arranging our transfer from the station to the hotel, to accommodating my dietary restrictions as a Muslim. They kindly prepared a special breakfast for us: rice noodles with egg, along with sweet potatoes, corn, and boiled eggs. What made it even more special was that everything was cooked by a very warm grandmother. Despite the language barrier, we could truly feel the warmth and love in her cooking.
The cabin we booked was absolutely perfect. It had a spacious yard, a hot tub, and a terrace with a table and chairs—great for dining or simply spending time together with family. Stepping inside the cabin was even more impressive: a large bed, lots of natural light, and equipped with smart home devices. One important detail for us was the bathroom—it had a bidet and a fully smart toilet with remote control. Since the temperature in Lijiang varies greatly between day and night, we were very grateful that the cabin had both floor heating and room heating. The bedroom also featured a large projector, and above it, a sunroof that can be opened—perfect for stargazing at night. It truly exceeded all our expectations.
The hotel area is also next to a very aesthetic café with a stunning view called Yuntian Cafe. For those traveling with family, this place is perfect—the area is spacious and great for kids to explore nature. If you want to go out for meals, Baisha Ancient Town is just a few kilometers away.
What I will remember the most is the kindness of the staff. Everyone was incredibly helpful and friendly, always doing their best to accommodate every request. Please never change—your hospitality feels just like being with family. Next time we visit Lijiang, we will definitely stay here again without hesitation.

I truly want to leave a detailed five-star review for this wonderful homestay hidden inside Lijiang Ancient City, which easily becomes the highlight of my whole Yunnan travel journey. From the moment we booked online until we checked out a few days later, every single link of our accommodation exceeded my expectations.
First of all, the geographical location is unbeatable. It sits in a quiet alley inside the ancient town, just a 3-5 minutes’ leisurely walk away from the bustling main street, waterwheel landmark and multiple local snack streets. We could wander around ancient city lanes day and night conveniently, yet stay away from noisy crowds and loud commercial noises after returning to the courtyard, striking a perfect balance between convenient sightseeing and peaceful rest. The homestay itself is built in classic traditional Naxi wooden courtyard style, with well-arranged green plants, wooden corridors and delicate antique decorations everywhere; sitting in the courtyard sipping local tea while enjoying slow Lijiang wind is such a relaxing pleasure every afternoon.
Speaking of the guest room, it is absolutely spotlessly clean without any dust or strange odour at all. The space is larger than displayed on booking photos, with soft high-quality bedding that guarantees deep comfortable sleep after tired sightseeing around Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and nearby scenic spots. Bathroom supplies are complete, hot water runs stably all day long with strong water pressure, and high-speed stable Wi-Fi covers every corner of the room and courtyard, great for daily work and sharing travel photos online. Many rooms are equipped with private balconies, where we can overlook the layered ancient tile roofs of Lijiang old town, and even catch distant glimpses of snow-capped Jade Dragon Snow Mountain on sunny days.
The 24-hr service is unbeatable too. Our front office lady, Xiao Xiong, is extremely helpful and always anticipates our needs well. I truly enjoyed my stay in BaiyueXiang!

This was my first time visiting Shangri-La, and this hotel truly stood out. The service was warm and welcoming, and they even had parking available. The staff helped us with our luggage to our room, which was a nice touch. The hotel itself was very clean and well-maintained, with excellent facilities and a peaceful atmosphere. Our room had a unique charm, and the heating and hot water were plentiful. The young owner was also incredibly hospitable; I even saw him sharing champagne with some guests during their meal – it truly felt like a harmonious place. The surroundings of the hotel are beautiful, and in the morning, you can catch the stunning 'Golden Mountain' sunrise over Shika Snow Mountain. I will definitely be staying here again on my next visit.

YxinyueI booked a twin room at Zhulao, and the front desk upgraded me to a Kaleidoscope Twin Room in the main building, 3rd floor. The balcony offered a breathtaking panoramic view of the Dongfengyun Kaleidoscope architectural complex. Right outside the hotel is the iconic Red Wine Bottle building, and photos taken from the balcony turned out stunning. The stay included admission tickets to the scenic area and shuttle service, so I didn't have to pay extra, making it super convenient to enter and exit the park. The tickets could be used unlimited times. I also tried the hotel's photography service, and the photos were excellent. I had two Chinese meals at the hotel restaurant; the food was decent. The set menu was a bit average, but ordering à la carte seemed better. Breakfast was quite rich. The bell staff at the entrance were very proactive, helping with luggage, and taking me to the scenic spots for photos and sightseeing in an electric cart. They also enthusiastically introduced the attractions and routes along the way. I also want to specially thank the floor attendant, Yang Fen, who helped with several requests during my stay.
My stay included a one-time use of the mini-bar: the drinks were quite good. The fruit platter on the first day had limited variety.

5 retouched digital photos from the hotel's photography service (advance reservation required): I chose the package and was quite satisfied with the experience 👍.

The highlight is undoubtedly the breathtaking 270-degree panoramic view from the room. On clear days, you can wake up to a magnificent view of the snow-capped mountains right from your bed—a sight that is simply magical.
The hotel grounds are beautifully maintained with a vast green meadow where you can relax, breathe in the fresh mountain air, admire the stunning scenery, and watch sheep peacefully grazing. It’s the perfect place to slow down and appreciate nature.
One of the most memorable experiences was the BBQ dinner held in the open field. Dining under the sky with the mountain backdrop was wonderful, and the evening became even more special with a local tribal dance performance where guests were warmly invited to join in. Every night ended with a spectacular fireworks display, adding a magical touch to the atmosphere.
The hospitality here is exceptional. The owner and all the staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. They even arranged a lovely birthday surprise for me, complete with a complimentary bottle of red wine, which made the celebration extra special. The hotel also provides a convenient shuttle service to the nearby town, making it easy to explore the area.
If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat with breathtaking scenery, unique local experiences, and genuine hospitality, I highly recommend this hotel. It’s a place where you can truly unwind, reconnect with nature, and create unforgettable memories. I would happily stay here again.
One small suggestion for the hotel would be to consider placing more fly traps around the outdoor areas during the summer months. As the hotel is located next to a farm, there are naturally quite a few flies. This small improvement would make the outdoor dining and relaxation experience even more enjoyable.
