Samesun Montreal is hands-down my go-to hostel in the city. Every stay has been consistently great — welcoming staff, a fun atmosphere, and a layout that makes it easy to meet other travelers.
The rooms and common areas are always clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the vibe is exactly what you want in a hostel: social but still relaxed enough to get a good night’s sleep.
Whether I’m visiting Montreal for a quick trip or a longer stay, Samesun is always my first choice. Highly recommended!

The locaction is perfect, right at the heart of old quebec. The hostel offers a complimentary walking tour of the city for guests, that was really interesting. Front desk were very nice and provided us with great recommendations of places to eat. The breakfast and cleanliness of the bathroom could be better. There were several nice shared spaces for the guests to enjoy, coffee maker and vending machine for drinks at extra cost.

Great hotel. Staff is friendly, rooms are comfortable. The location is central, just be mindful of the junkies outside. Not all will agree but there are too many pot heads in the smoking area that give this skunk smell outside. And I didn't appreciate that we couldn't access the balcony, apparently to 'protect' residents from the noise(??). Now this is weird, allowing ***** everywhere but not travellers chatting on balconies. Then do not advertise the balconies maybe?

This Auberge Saintlo Hostel has a very nice location in Montreal nearly the Metro and Downtown. The staffs are very friendly and nice and also nice breakfast every morning.

Wanneer je verblijft bij Auberge Foyer de la Paix in Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix, bevind je je op 13 min. rijden van Omega Park. Dit hostel ligt op 20,3 km van Sanctuaire Notre-Dame d'Etchemin en op 20,6 km van Manoir-Papineau National Historic Site.
Geniet van een maaltijd in het restaurant of bestel een snack in de koffiebar/het café van dit hostel. Maak op bepaalde dagen kennis met andere gasten tijdens een gratis receptie.

La chambre était bien, mais comme c'est une maison ancestrale qui a été rénovée en auberge il n'y a pas d'insonorisation entre les chambres et le corridor. Les gens étaient respectueux, mais prévoir des bouchons si vous êtes un dormeur léger. L'accès au frigo a été très pratique pour conserver nos découvertes sur l'île.

Comfy bed in a nice specious room in a century building, great location in upper old town, 300 meters away from Chateau Fromtqnac. the shared bathroom is clean. The wall isn't sound proof but it's bearable. The lobby area could be better organized for more efficient use of space. No frills, charming place. No elevators, you need to have strength to drag your luggage upstairs :D

This hotel is a little gem in a super area of downtown Montreal. The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable, with high-quality sheets and a good selection of comfortable pillows. A kitchenette made it very easy to pick up salads or snacks to refrigerate or reheat leftovers from a restaurant the night before. Breakfast is included and there’s a good selection of fruit, boiled eggs, smoked salmon, deli meats and yogurt. Cereals as well. While there were scrambled eggs, I tried them twice but not cooked to my taste. Having said that, there were fresh pastries and bagels, so a bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon with some fruit served very well. This hotel is very walkable to Notre Dame, Place des Arts and several theatres and museums. Lots of great restaurants to suit anyone’s tastes. The subway is literally a 3-minute walk and in 10 minutes, you can be at the Jean Talon Market, which has a plethora of foods and drinks to suit anyone’s taste palate. I’d highly recommend Hotel and Spa Carre St. Denis and will definitely be back next time I visit Montreal.

GGuest UserPros: The rooms are big, clean, comfortable, and have everything you need.
The breakfast is quite abundant and varied; it would only need some boiled eggs, cheese, or another source of protein to be perfect.
The reception staff are friendly and polite.
Cons:
The pet fee is ridiculously high ($40, and they also charge taxes on top of that, which makes no sense). Total = $46. It is the highest pet fee I paid during my trip from Montreal to Calgary. For example, in Ontario, Winnipeg, and Saskatchewan, many motels don’t even charge a pet fee. What some other places do is charge a refundable deposit in case of damages, rather than a non-refundable fee for no particular reason. For this reason, I would not return.
Noise: You can hear absolutely everything from the adjacent rooms. In fact, a couple was arguing quite loudly and aggressively during my stay, including shouting, which affected my sense of safety. Staff members who were nearby at the time, should be vigilant and intervene in this kind of situation.

I had an outstanding stay at this hotel and would gladly return. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. Check-in was quick, and I appreciated how clearly everything was explained. We came to ski at Le Massif, Mont-Sainte-Anne, and Stoneham, and stayed for three nights. The location was very convenient — about 20 minutes from Le Massif and 15 minutes from Mont-Sainte-Anne. The price was very affordable, and the whole place was extremely clean. There’s no breakfast included, but the hotel has a large shared kitchen that is fully equipped: lots of pots and pans, plates, utensils, and even cooking oil, salt, pepper, and some snacks — all free. There are plenty of dining tables, and there’s also a pool table where we could relax in the evenings. Overall, this hotel was comfortable, convenient, and a great value. I would definitely recommend it and would be happy to stay here again.

Clean and in a great location. There's a small park across the street, and the Parliament Building is just past the city gate. The pool in front of the building is where the movie ”Goblin” was filmed. To get to the Castle Hotel, turn into the intersection next to it and walk straight. It's a really nice hotel, and you don't need to pay a deposit.

Great Location we had a family unit As we expected Old but Great - Verry Clean just what we needed, The Owner was Verry Verry helpful pleasant & we really enjoyed our stay, Breakfast was a great surprise, We expected Toast Cereal & Spreads BUT That was not the case It Was Way Way Better Full Juice & After the Coffee & Cereal There was a Cooked Breakfast Eggs Bacon Fried Potatoes Sausage (More Than We Expected - We Totaly Recommend this Well Priced stay, With great Parking just outside your unit ,Quiet Peacefull & Yes wildlife outside when you go to breakfast Thank you for the Great 2 night Stay sorry next time we will stay longer Thank you Anton Marlin & Izon from New Zealand
