Het hotelpersoneel is vriendelijk en de kamer is niet te klein
Er zijn ook enkele kleine winkels in de omgeving, die over het algemeen goed zijn. Hoewel het meer dan tien kilometer verwijderd is van de stedelijke bezienswaardigheden, zijn er drie bussen die erg handig voor mij zijn, en een taxi kost slechts minder dan € 10.

Het is een heel degelijk en aangenaam hotel, dat perfect wordt beheerd door jonge mensen op een zeer georganiseerde manier. Iedereen die werkt is erg vriendelijk. Ze hebben ons met alles geholpen vanaf de eerste dag dat we gingen. Ze maakten een kaart voor ons, van de plaatsen die we zouden bezoeken tot de busroute en de tijden die we zouden nemen. Ontbijt ***vlees was voldoende en van goede kwaliteit. Overal was het erg schoon. Omdat jongeren rondrenden met vodden en schoonmaaksprays in hun handen. 24 uur per dag geopend en het aanbieden van gratis warme en koude dranken was voor ons ook een pluspunt. De inrichting was zeer stijlvol en netjes. De koelkast en het koffiezetapparaat in de kamers zijn een ander pluspunt. De locatie ligt ook op 4 haltes van de luchthaven, zelfs op loopafstand. De nabijgelegen bushalte gaf ons het gemak om alle plaatsen waar we heen wilden in Porto, zoals een taxi, in één keer te bereiken. Hopelijk komen we weer naar Porto en verblijven we opnieuw in dit hotel. Bedankt jongens, goed gedaan.

Probably the coolest hostel dorm I have ever stayed in. Really clean and nice. Really nice lounge area and it is close to most tourist destinations in Porto. This place is a must stay for the seasoned traveler!

Locatie: Zeer dicht bij de trein- en busstations, op minder dan 10 minuten lopen, maar de weg ernaartoe is wat heuvelachtig, waardoor de wandeling met zware bagage wat vermoeiend kan zijn. Er is een selfservicewasserette tegenover het hotel en een prachtige monumentale kerk is vlakbij. De bezienswaardigheden in het stadscentrum zijn ook slechts ongeveer 20 minuten lopen. Ik heb alle drie de dagen dat ik er was, gelopen; taxi's zijn goedkoop, maar de wandeling was aangenaam.
Schoonmaak: Dit is een relatief nieuw hotel, een zeldzaamheid in Europa, dus het was erg schoon.
Faciliteiten: Zeer nieuw en goed ontworpen.
Service: Het personeel was efficiënt, maar ze vulden geen water en koffie bij voor terugkerende gasten. Ik had drie kamers geboekt, en in één ervan kreeg ik een welkomstgeschenk van chocolaatjes en eierpasteitjes, terwijl dat bij de andere twee niet het geval was.

Uitstekende faciliteiten. Wij boekten het verblijf op basis van halfpension. En dat is het niet waard. Nadat we de prijzen kenden, wisten we dat we minder voor het diner hadden betaald als we op de dag zelf hadden betaald.
Wij waren er in het weekend en het hotel zat vol. Het is een groot hotel en wat dat betreft vonden we de ervaring niet prettig.
Het doel was om te ontspannen en een andere ervaring te hebben, maar uiteindelijk moesten we wachten voor we het Turkse stoombad binnen mochten. De sauna en de baden waren niet meer te gebruiken, omdat ze op gemeentelijke zwembaden leken.

Datzelfde geldt niet voor het personeel bij de receptie. Er was weinig bereidheid om te helpen met zulke simpele dingen, zoals het uitlenen van een telefoonoplader, wat door het personeel in de eetzaal gemakkelijk werd opgelost.
Kortom, het is een hotel met voorwaarden, maar als het vol is, wordt het erg verwarrend. Dat is volgens mij vaak het geval in het weekend.

De ontvangst was in eerste instantie niet erg vriendelijk en we kregen te horen dat we eigenlijk niet meer konden inchecken. Volgens de receptie is inchecken mogelijk tot 17.00 uur.
Volgens Trip.com tot 21.00 uur. We kwamen om 19.00 uur aan.
De receptioniste op de dag dat we vertrokken was erg vriendelijk en gaf ons een pleister toen we erom vroegen. Helaas wist hij niet dat pelgrims op weg naar Santiago vrijgesteld zijn van toeristenbelasting.
De ligging is prachtig groen en rustig. De lucht op de heuvel is heel helder.
De faciliteiten zijn zeer goed en de kamers zijn gemoderniseerd.

Een perfect hotel met gemakkelijke toegang tot de luchthaven of de metro. Het stadscentrum ligt op slechts 20 minuten afstand en u bent hier ver weg van de drukte.
Het personeel is uitstekend, vriendelijk en efficiënt.
De kamers zijn ruim, net als het ontbijt.
Er valt absoluut niets op aan te merken. Bedankt voor een heerlijk verblijf.

WWestopiaFantastic location and large common area, with inclusive breakfast and a welcome drink at their downstairs bar! The domitory is clean with all the facilities you would need, and the staff are all very nice! There are hot water in both the shower and the sink, which I really appreciate. If they could provide hair-dryer in the dorms it would be perfect, right now you can only borrow one from the reception, and you might not br in luck if someone else has taken it.

GGuest UserStayed at this hotel 3 times in less than 2 months, not planning to return ever again.
Our 1st visit was so impressive that we had booked 2 more stays short after for our family. Yet the last visit turned into a disaster.
Nobody answering phone calls at night.
Before checking in on our last visit. We realized our flight got delayed. tried calling the hotel at around 9.15 pm, called 5 times over 20 minutes, no one would pick up the phone in the main reception !! Furious, and so we arrived at 1am without being able to inform them that we were gonna be late.
Upon arrival, as I had booked 2 rooms, I asked the only person who was on shift that night to make sure putting my parents into the booked standard double room and my family with a child into the other bigger room (Junior King Suite) . He affirmed me that the room distribution was correct so we just left our parents to go to their room and take rest since it was late.
When we arrived at our room, it was definitely a small room that would only fit a couple without being able to add an extra bed. Called the reception, no ones answered again!! So had to went back down to speak to that staff at 1.30am.
He insisted, the room I was put into, was the Junior King Suite !!!! I was so angry because that room didnt looked like it was over 500sq ft as it was described when I booked. But the staff said to us that the info in trip.com was incorrect and more over, the information he received didnt mentioned that we had a child with us.
Angry and exhausted, and I was even gonna compromised to stay in that room and sleep. we just went back to take a shower, then the guy came , talked to my husband and would offer us a bigger room after all the drama. it was close to 2am!!! We got offered to stay in a family room so my daughter got to sleep on a sofa bed but the guy who made the bed didnt even give her a blanket.
Next day, texted my parents and asked them to show us a picture of their room, we realized the guy mistakenly putting my parents into the bigger room and so we were the one who got allocated into the standard double room!!
Unprofessional service from the top to the bottom!! we eventually felt bad to that staff because in the middle of the night, he was the only person who moved luggages, opening beds etc...

EExploreWithMoFrom the moment I landed, I knew this stay would be special. I was collected from the airport in a luxury Jaguar , (completely free) and transported again at departure, including complimentary trips to and from the city centre. Actual VIP treatment from start to finish .... something I have never experienced anywhere else.
Because my flights didn’t match standard hotel times, the team kindly allowed early check-in and late check-out at no extra cost, which took away all travel stress and made my stay even more comfortable. That flexibility meant everything to me.
Every single staff member was amazingly warm, professional, and genuinely caring. Although I sadly didn’t manage to catch the names of the wonderful ladies at reception, they were absolutely incredible and deserve huge praise. Special mention to Tomas — such a professional, friendly, standout member of the team. I later found out his birthday was on Thursday 4th, and I wish I had the chance to say Happy Birthday before I left!
The location is perfect — close to shops, cafés, and restaurants, making it easy to explore Porto while still enjoying a calm, comfortable stay.
The room was immaculate — spotlessly clean, cosy, and beautifully prepared. And the amenities were next-level:
Mini-bar, tea and coffee station with kettle, plush slippers, bathrobe, bottled water......everything thoughtfully provided. I was welcomed with a welcome drink on arrival, and a fresh fruit tray waiting in my room. Nothing felt standard, everything felt intentional.
What truly sets this hotel apart is the attention to detail. There is a clear sense of care, love, and purpose in every interaction and every small touch. You’re not treated like just another guest , you are genuinely looked after.
I honestly cannot fault a single thing about this stay. Hotel Jaguar Porto combines luxury service with real warmth and heart, a rare find.
If you’re heading to Porto and looking for an experience that goes far beyond accommodation, this is THE hotel to book.
100% recommended. I will absolutely be back. ✨👏

GGuest UserLast year I had the most wonderful stay at Menina Colina, and was excited to return. Unfortunately I now wish I had reserved elsewhere, as it has been nothing but a disappointment.
Prices are so much higher than a year ago, but I thought I got what was a good deal on the garden room. Turns out it is greatly overpriced for what is offered, as it has none of the exquisite design or attention to detail that the interior rooms have. It also seems to be neglected in terms of maintenance. The coffee machine was leaking, and after reporting it, it was made out to be my fault as I was using it incorrectly. I had to physically show a member of staff the leaked water for them to agree to replace it. I was really annoyed that they felt that they needed to demonstrate to me how it works rather than just replacing it immediately.
The next disappointment was that the room was initially not serviced at all, and no explanation was given. When you are paying $165 for a mediocre room (not even including breakfast), one would at the very least expect the bins to be emptied.
The bathroom also had a terrible smell that permeated the room, and mosquitoes were a problem too.
Management did offer me lunch or attendance of their fado show, but none of these arrangements fitted into my busy programme. I thought a small financial compensation would have made more sense. That did not happen, and nothing further was mentioned or discussed on check-out.
The final issue was the online check-out which they require. When I tried to complete it, my bill was for my entire stay, although 3 of the 4 nights had already been paid months in advance. So my conclusion is unfortunately that Menina Colina’s standards have dropped significantly, and that it is overpriced for the lack of attention to detail that is evident in several areas.

GGuest UserWe were given a nice, clean room on an upper floor with a pretty view. The bathroom was on the right through a sliding door when you entered the room. It was spacious with a shower and a bathtub. Good breakfast! The roasted tomatoes were superb and it should be a dish available every morning at the buffet.

While advertised as a 5-star hotel, it feels more like a high-end 4-star, mainly because it lacks some of the extra touches of luxury and service you’d expect from a top-tier 5-star experience. That said, it still offers great value for money and an excellent stay.
One of the hotel’s strongest points is its location—right in the heart of Porto, making it easy to explore the city on foot. Despite being so central, the room was quiet and well-insulated, allowing for a great night’s sleep.
Check-in was smooth and efficient, with friendly and professional staff who made us feel welcome right away. Throughout our stay, the staff remained courteous and helpful, ensuring a pleasant experience.
Our room was spacious, stylish, and very comfortable, featuring a king-sized bed, elegant decor, and a huge shower that added a touch of indulgence. Everything was spotlessly clean, which is always a priority when choosing a hotel.
The hotel has a spa with a gym, sauna, and hammam, free for guests. While we didn’t have time to use them, they looked modern, well-maintained, and inviting, adding to the hotel’s appeal.
Overall, Eurostars Aliados delivers a stylish and comfortable stay at a reasonable price. While it may not quite reach the level of a true 5-star experience, it’s an excellent option for those looking for a high-quality hotel in the center of Porto. We would definitely stay here again!

GGuest UserA little out of the centre but clean hotel with friendly and helpful staff. We stayed a night before we were booked in for the first night of an organised cycling trip . Staff had moved our bags to the new room while we were out sightseeing.
Fantastic food hall just through a door from the hotel with huge choice of food and beer!

GGuest UserThe hotel is in a great location, within easy walking distance of a lot of the areas of interest within Porto. The hotel itself it nicely decorated. The hotel rooms are compact, but the decor adds to the feeling of a boutique hotel. One of the best showers I have had in a hotel, powerful and easy to temperature control. The toiletries used were nice. The beds are comfortable and the sheets are fresh and spotless. Most of the reception staff are efficient and friendly. The rooms are well equipped with good robes/umbrella/good hairdryer/coffee machine and capsules etc
There are a few things that the hotel could easily improve :
Breakfast is definitely not something I would recommend. The choices were poor, definitely not fresh or local, and the cost is high. There are many much better choices nearby.
The pillows were either a hard memory foam slab or a really lumpy soft pillow, surprising for the cost of accommodation.
It was very hard to get fresh milk for tea and coffee on arrival, we asked reception and at the bar they could not make one even though we discovered at breakfast that they had a machine and fresh milk and take away cups readily available.
The bar needs rethinking….it is the opposite of welcoming and the staff don’t make you want to stay. As there is no ‘lounge’ in the hotel, maybe this would be better utilised as a meeting place within the hotel.

UUAGJAQThis is a beautiful apartment that made us not want to leave the room. It is apartment that came with a kitchen, dinner area, living area and a bedroom.
You need to download the hotel’s app to be able to access the doors to the hotel and your room. Just select key on the app, bring your phone near the keypad and the door opens.
Alternatively , you can also key in the 6-digit and #. 5G access may be inaccessible but you can manually switch it your phone to 4G and you will be able to access the app.
There are close by restaurants that was less than 5mins walk; Thai, Chinese, Indian and a local diner that was cheap. There’s portions are big enough for 2.
There’s also a provision shop right next door that you can buy your necessities like water, drinks etc. Don’t buy travel adaptors as they don’t work or fit.
Easy to get Uber to the hotel and from the hotel to anywhere.
